Just got this in today, she's a beauty and hits better than both my nemmy & panzer. Looks great with the tobh, all around solid build.

I love the look of this mod but having owned one the first Stingrays made, I just couldn't get beyond the crunchy switch. Please tell me that this model's switch is nice and smooth so I can buy one! Not pretty smooth, really smooth! To me the switch is the most important part of any mods I own. Convince me, please!

I love the SS switch cap and AFC combo. Looks great. How do you like the switch?

There is something different of the way the Ti switch feels but it feels really good and it's so smooth everything you'd expect from a GP switch. How you liking yours?

Yeah I agree. The switch is different. Can't put my finger on it. It feels a lot smother. The TiX is very light in weight and the switch hits like a train. Cant remember enjoying a setup like this before. GP brought it !!!

I do not have the first Stingray they produced, but I own the Red Copper LE Stingray, Mixed Phantom Brass Stingray, and I recently purchased and received the Stingray X. I also own GP PAPS V2.5, V3, GP PAPS X, XXIX, and the MCR 101, which IMO have some of the best switches ever produced.

The stingray switch design does not produce a light touch, press from any angle or edge, buttery smooth action, however I don't think that was their intention. I say that because they have clearly demonstrated the technical savvy required to produce a sophisticated mod with thoughtful and intelligent design features. I think they intentionally designed the switch to have a firmer mechanical feel, similar to what you might experience if it was created with sprockets and/or gears. As a matter of fact the logo on the bottom of the switch provides a good visual concept of what the switch feels like, if that makes sense.

I have not had a problem with the switches on the older Stingrays other than an occasional click if I press it from the edge of the button. The Stingray X switch definitely has an improved design and I think it is slightly smoother and more consistent compared to the older switch. Nevertheless, it is not a switch design that allows for a push on the edge or at an angle, and if that is important, then I would say it is not a switch that will please you. If I have learned anything since I have become a vape gear enthusiast, it is to appreciate the differences; understand and allow for designs that offer different feels and aesthetics, it is what makes this journey so interesting and exciting. I don't think that I have convinced you but at least it is something that might help you make your decision :toast:

I need some suggestions... I have a brass Nemesis (with new engraving), and want a dedicated atty for it. It's polished brass, so I want an atty with the majority being polished brass. I'm thinking about the polished Dome with polished brass sleeve. I have all types of attys, from genesis to tanks, but mostly drippers. Feel free to post photos of your favorite brass Nemesis + atty!

Great setup, Mssam. I love the Lux X converter and AFC.

Thanks VapinBill! I thought i would spice it up a little. I've been reading the comments about the switch on the Ti and i have to agree; it's really nice. In fact, i like it much better than the X. I can't tell if it's just the material or what, but it seems somewhat like the v3 in that it doesnt require any effort. I can use any finger on either hand to fire it, unlike the X which required me to use certain ones (and usually my dominant hand). Glad you all are enjoying yours as well. :)

vapourz411, thank you. That's exactly what I needed to know. As nice as the Stingray X is I guess it's not for me. I understand what you are saying about their design intentions but really, if their intention was to build a switch that would only fire smoothly if pushed dead center, that's kind of foolish IMO.
Thanks for your honest feedback!

I feel the same as Vapourz on this one, although I don't have another stingray to compare but have hands on experience with the black copper version and can tell the switch is much improved on the X. The crunch is still there but barely noticeable because of the short throw and the magnets is perfect IMO, not too strong or too weak. I still can't get over how nicely crafted this mod is, I need to get my dslr camera back so I can take some real pictures of this mod. This mod looks even better in person than it does in photos.

How's the XXIX vs the 2.5 switch?

Very similar feel and action even though one switch uses a spring and the other uses magnets. I have not had the XXIX long enough to provide a balanced opinion, and to be honest I have not even disassembled the XXIX switch yet. The V2.5 switch is hard to beat when it comes to feel, action and durability.

Yes, the switches are interchangeable :)

Maybe that problem is fixed or improved on the X, cause I haven't had a single misfire or sticking. But of course Its only been with me for a day, from what I can tell it should get even better once broken in.

Your welcome Pete54, glad I could help. I should also mention that the way a person holds a mod and fires the switch can make a significant difference. I use my ring finger across the bottom of the button applying pressure to both edges in the center when firing. The Stingray switches respond well to this method. The key is pressure to both edges simultaneously. I use different firing methods and hold mods differently based on the type of switch being used...a switch like you have described (GP PAPS V2.5 for example) I can use my pinky finger. Nevertheless, I respect your opinion.

Honest feedback is one of the reasons I love the concept of forums, this one in particular. it is nice to be able to give back when you guys have helped me so much in my journey :)

Got this interesting dripper from Neovapetek called the Venturi. Similar design to the Cats dripper. Still playing around with some builds but so far it's performing pretty good. When I get home from work I'm going to pop this bad boy on the MCR Hybrid adapter.
