I have a Black Mini with the Blue LED. I love it.

I have learned that owners of the Provari have a unique perspective on vaping and the devices they use. Quality, consistency and dependability appear to trump all other aspects of the vaping experience.

I’m on board with all of that but… I will admit that my eyes have wandered from the beloved one. Please forgive my transgression.

I have lusted after a Semovar. After handling one I found it to be way too big. Todd, the YouTube guy, makes a similar comment. I’m good with the 22/23mm diameter, it’s the length of the thing; it’s a beast. (Let’s please skip the all too obvious comments, OK?) I borrowed a friends Nemesis. In 18350 mode it feels great in my hand with his KayFun Light on top. Just terrific until I vaped it. The voltage drop off, every hit is different. That same Kayfun on my Provari is a dream. I’m going to get one. Should make a nice friend for the Sofia which should hit my doorstep today, postal gods willing. I put the Nemesis in 18490/18500 mode and the length is good, I could live with that.

What I have learned is that I like 18350/18490 mode mods (without a huge control head on top of that) and I like something that is regulated.

So, you are surely asking, why not just stick with the Mini and get a second one? I find the Provari to be aesthetically challenged. I’m going to get a Parish V19 case to hide the pockmarks and a Hippo v2 to take care of the fitment and airflow challenges. That’s all good, but… anyhow I think I will check out some other options at this point in time. I WILL get a second Provari, but not this time around.

I’m thinking about the GP PAPS X, kicked. I’m thinking about the Nemesis, kicked. I have considered clones (Nemesis) but I think I will stalk the real things until I can score one. The Kick v2 is available, I think that’s an easy choice… well the only choice. High quality button top and flat top IMR batteries are available, no issues there that I can see with getting the kick to play nicely with a high end mechanical mod.

What wisdom will the ProVarinati share? What have you looked at? What made it onto your wish list? What have you bought? How does the vape compare to our beloved?

---

Just a note: If this turns into a Provari VV vs. VW shouting match, I will report myself for posting flame bait and accept whatever punishment I may have coming.

your not alone, i think everyone here that owns a provari has other mods also. or most do. And then we all look at the new items and some make it on our wish list just because they look nice, as for me i want to get a V3 .50 Cal Bullet Vaporizer Mod - Stainless Steel - V2 - V3tronix - Advanced Vape Tech and use it kicked v2 just from the looks department (also being a Marine i like bullets)

So, even though we may buy and use other mods we still know that we have our trusted Provari that in my rotation will always be my main.

Hard to get a hold of one, but I agree. IMHO, nothing can beat a Caravela for pure aesthetic beauty.

I'm slowly working my way up the chain, but don't see any 'high end' batteries I really want, well, maybe the DNA30 when its out because it's so different. My biggest reasoning is that while I like sleek too, some of the sleeker pieces remind me of sections of bathroom piping. There's a point where minimalism starts resembling cheap and bland, and I just don't see spending over $200 for that, since so far, I'm not seeing the need for higher end functionality.

My focus lately has been on RBA/RDA, and I'm supposed to get some more today:)!!! I got a huge cross section of all the builds, so I can figure out what I like best, although I am now thinking I probably bit off way more than I can chew. Some, like the Ithaka, are pretty complex builds, and I haven't even done a simple one.

When interested in a new mod, i ask myself, what can this mod do,
that my provari can't?

In the case of my nemmy it was cloudchasing, in the case of my reo it was bottom-feeding.
That gives them a justifiable place in my arsenal imo. But my provari + various RTAs still get the bulk of my use
for excellent results each and every draw (get the kayfun lite plus! :) )

I have a kick2, but i don't use it much in my mechanicals... The shorter battery life and bigger size of the mod
bug me more than the voltage drop-off.

Hammer by Kato Clone with a Kayfun 3.1 clone. I need this. That the Kayfun would also work on my ProVari isn't even a factor at all.

I just looked at the Authentic Hammer and the Clone side by side. It's so amazingly close. The laser engraving was lighter on the clone and some of the edge finishings were different. Otherwise, it had all the parts and the weight. It is HEAVY!
