I am currently running a pair for Provari, one on 18490's and one on 18650's.

Is the Mini that much more portable than the Provari running 18490's? I guess what I am asking is there a time you would not take the Provari with you if you didn't have the Mini and only had one running 18490's?

Where I am at on things right now is the Provari does everything I expect from it at home and I do carry the one running on 18490's once in awhile.

I am trying to keep my vaping as simple as possible and even if something better comes along the Provari does everything I want for at home.

I plan on for the foreseeable future only running several Provarii and some form of hands free unit. I am still trying to find the best hands free unit for myself and I assume when I find it it will be more portable than the Provari.

Is the Mini worth it for the size decrease?

For me the Mini is worth it.

I used my regular Provari for everything for a few months; both home and out-and-about. At first it didn't bother me to carry it everywhere, but it was not exactly pocket-friendly and at times seemed heavy.

I began using an older mod of mine again, a 14500-powered mech mod (Altsmoke BB and a very similar size to a Mini) for out of the house vaping but I missed using variable voltage and started bringing the Provari along everywhere again.

Next I bought a couple of small, pocket-friendly, lightweight, and inexpensive gripper-style V-V box mods for out-and-about. I thought that they would be a fit for what I wanted, yet....after a while I again found myself grabbing for the Provari when I'd go out the door because I just preferred its vape over the others. Nothing satisfied like the Provari did.

For my 1 year vape anniversary, I decided to award myself with a Mini. It now perfectly fits my need. Pocket-friendly, lighter to carry, more stealth-like, and...IT'S STILL A PROVARI ! To me, nothing gives a more satisfying vape. I'm pleased as can be. The two Provari's get at least 90% if not more of my attention of all my mods.

My :2c:...
I really like my provari-mini... but... I almost never use the mini part, I have large hands and find the 18490 size much more comfortable. In fact, I wouldn't mind getting the 18650 extension if I could find it in stock some where then I would have the best of all sizes. Keep in mind the provari stays at home.. the spinners and twists go on the road, (Eroll on the way.)

I have 2 Minis. However, having the Twins, I never run the mini in 650 mode. With the delivery devices, which I use on the mini, it gets too top heavy in a 650 configuration. At home, I run the mini in a 490 configuration. When out and about, the mini is always in the 350 configuration. The 350 mode is my favorite provari configuration.

I like the longer run times I get with the 18650's. The second one I am running 18490's for sure does not run as long. I can tell what juice I have in front of me by the two lengths.

If I end up using the Mini in 18490 mode it kind of defeats the purpose for me since I have the standard sized ones running the two larger batteries. It will only make sence if I use it in 18350 mode. I might have to break down and get a silver mini someday. I actually wanted to cut down a full sized so that they would match in appearance but that might be too much trouble. I have a feeling the Mini would only get use outside of the house. I still think I want one.

While I have a tatroe ring for my mini can can use all 3 battery sizes, I find myself using the mini in 350 mode most often at home and out and about because I prefer the size balance, weight and it's pocketability.

I was pleasantly surprised how long the 350 batteries last in my Provari Mini. For some reason they last much longer than they did in my 33hz chinese mods. I stick a spare battery (in a case) in my other pocket just in case, but I would still do that regardless of what battery size I was using.

Essentially, my battery philosophy is go big, when stationary and go small, when mobile.

I have a Provari 18650 for home and a Reos VV Grand for on the go. However, since I have taken to proselytizing vaping to anyone who will listen to The Word of The Vape God, I like to carry some spare plastic drip tips and an extra device. To really sell it, you should have good devices, so I will be picking up a mini. I'd get another Reos, but I want two different styles to show both types of devices to the heathens.

I started with the full-size ProVari and it's always in 18650 mode. I carried it everywhere I went. But summer is upon us, and there are less pockets and a desire to carry less stuff. I got the mini and when I go out it's in 18350 mode, which I can stick in my purse. Just have a few batteries with you just in case. 18590 is used when using my Serenity Gear case is appropriate i.e. I don't care if people see it or the activity I am participating in won't damage it. I just like having all the options, so I can do what I want.

So much depends on individual style and taste. The 18350 battery size is what I'm sticking with for simplicity and they fit in my hand better. My backup now is a 1300mah spinner and I use that almost as much. I couldn't live without vv and I like to change juice flavors during the day. The smaller size is lighter weight, more portable and I need it mobile.

Personally I think your biggest challenge might be finding a hands-free device since I can't think of a one except maybe an automatic ego style battery. I haven't been looking for one either.

So I may not quite be suitable for posting this but the eVic I have is roughly the same size as the standard Provari and my mini has become the one that goes everywhere. It is a lot more comfortable in my hand and the weight balance seems perfect with all the tanks I got. The eVic always felt quite top heavy when using the Protank or Aga-T+ whereas the Mini, it's only a tad top heavy with the Aga on it but nothing near what the eVic was.

Really only use the eVic now when setting up a coil for the Aga or when the batteries are charging for the Mini (which I make sure to always have one battery fully charged at all times :))
