So it's been about a month since I started vaping and quit smoking. I haven't touched an analog since, and so far I've been vaping 6mg on all my juices, but lately I've been feeling like it's not enough and need to bump up the nicotine level. I vape maybe three times a day for about 45 minutes each time with pulls every couple minutes or so. Has anyone else been in the same boat? Am I heading in the wrong direction?

It sounds like you were a fairly light smoker?

If you found the 6mg/ml satisfying to start with, and don't find it satisfying now, it's likely that you are missing some of the other chemicals in burning tobacco that are not present in the e-liquid. Investigate WTA liquids for more information.

You could try a higher nicotine level and see if that helps at all, but there's a chance that it will not. You could try vaping a WTA liquid for one of your sessions and then gradually cut it out.

If you stick it out for a week though, you might find that you don't miss it as much. It's tobacco's last little strangle hold on you. Get through it and you are free ;-)

Excellent advice here ^ I know that was a problem I faced as well, I was missing a heaviness in my chest for a week or two. Now 3 months later it's a thing of the past and I don't miss it at all.

Can you give us a bit more information Spmxk? How much did you smoke and for how many years? When you say it's not enough, does that mean you are longing for a cigarette? What's it feel like after a vape session?

I was smoking Malboro Lights at for the first year at only 2 a day then switched to reds of which I smoked for 2 years at an average of 10 a day (some days more, some less). For this last year I switched back to lights at 12 or more a day until I stopped using analogs and switched to vaping a month ago. When I vape I feel fine but when I try to stop my vape session I always end up taking a few more pulls. I don't feel 100% satisfied after every vape session, and always wonder if an analog would take care of that.

I would definitely get a bottle of juice with a higher nic concentration then.

I thought i needed more nicotine on my 2nd week or so. Was doing 12mg and upped to 24mg until i started dripping and the 24mg started kicking my ... at the rate i was consuming it at least. As i purchased better drippers and increased my vapor production well beyond what a cigarette produces in smoke even 12mg was too much and had to drop to 6mg. Don't give up on 6mg yet until you try some different atomizer setups, you may end up liking it after all while getting that dose of nicotine you want.

I use WTA in one of my own liquids. It is different. However, there is very little information about the risks associated with using those liquids, there are only two reputable vendors making them, and they are pricey.

What I suggest is that if you're increasing the nic level of your liquid, also increase the VG content, or consider going max VG. VG masks throat hit, which allows you to increase the nic level of your liquid without necessarily increasing the punch to the back of your throat.

Most of my commercially bought favorites are max VG offered by the vendor. My DIY liquids are 100% VG, and my target nic level is either 12mg or 18mg, depending on the flavor profile I'm shooting for.

i think your the problem is not with the nic level, it must be your vapor production. try using RDAs with sub ohm builds on a mech mod then a 6mg will suffice your needs.

Few people are truly knowledgeable enough about coil building and battery safety to do this, and some of those who do have no interest in it or need for it in order to keep them off analogs.

Suggesting to someone who just started vaping a month ago that they should start wrapping sub-ohm coils and use those coils on an unregulated mod isn't the greatest idea in the world, especially when simply changing the eliquid they purchase can help with reducing their cigarette cravings.

6mg is a very low level of nic. How often and how much did you smoke a day? If you were a heavy smoker and smoked strong cigarettes 6mg is not going to be a high enough level.
Just like with smoking when stressed you smoked more, when stressed you'll vape more....we gave up smoking but still the nic fits are present....you can purchase nic by itself to add a few drops to your vape when in need of a bit more nic to curb that craving.

But honestly this is normal. I only smoked 4 times a day but finding myself vaping more often but there again that's because I do vape at a lower nic level than I smoked and well I enjoy vaping.

When vaping for nic fix I vape at 24 mg or higher. When vaping for pleasure I vape at 16 mg or under.
I've been vaping for about 7 months now, completely quit smoking about 3 months ago.
Also try when vaping to instead of taking the vapor into your lungs cycle it from mouth directly out nostrils and you'll probably notice more of a nic fix...nic is absorbed quicker in nasal than in the mouth and throat and from what I've read isn't really absorbed in the lungs like smoking was so there's little to no point to drag into lungs other than for the pleasure (which I do as well for the fulfillment of the "smoking feeling") I tend to do every other draw into lungs and then straight to nostrils.

also it could be the device you are using...personal experience the cigarette-look-a-likes just don't cut it...

feel free to ask more questions and give us some more info about your old smoking habits and what you are currently using as your personal vapor and we can hopefully help you find something that suits your needs better.

Thanks for all the help so far. I'm using a Vision Spinner with an Evod, Mini T3S, and a Vision VT all at 1.8ohm at 3.6V which I find to be the best flavor producer. My old smoking habits are earlier in this thread. I never liked smoking out through my nose but since vaping is different I might try that. Depending on how comfortable I feel with VV I might start moving into mods and RBA's, but not until my bank account allows it. For now I have a 15ml bottle of 12mg headed my way just to see how it goes.
