Nicotine affecting flavor...man, I'm learning a lot. It will be interesting to see what your juices taste like between mg's as I lower my dosage over time. I notice how much they're morphing every day, particularly the Virus, but I'm not sure how much of that is my sense of taste and smell recovering also. Because for instance - I'm smelling pine trees and flowers stronger than in years, stronger every day.

It's all wonderful and I'm thankful for vaping, and for your juices and for the time you take to share your knowledge with other people.

The general consensus is that liquid tastes better as you reduce the level of nicotine. I wouldn't say that's universally true, though - there are some vapes I actually like better in 12mg (most tobaccos).

Where did you end up getting the Tugboat from Clark?

vapordna with the code DNA10. They had a bunch of odds and ends I wanted... 2puffs delrin insulators for drip tips, a couple tugboats (got a black one for Beau also), a Moddish Metalworks Helmut drip-tip, and some ceramic tweezers. LMAO

So, I got some 28 kanthal wire, organic cotton balls, tweezers, think I've got access to a blowtorch in the workshop...all Im missing from this video is the syringe. but I have access to tons of drill bits. Is there a drill bit size that will work in place of the 20 gauge syringe for the nanocoil technique in this video?

Awesome!! Thanks Kent! Last question about this for now to anyone out there - if I build it exactly as he does in this video, same amount of wraps etc...will that ohmage function on my MVP2? (shouldve thought about this before I bought that gauge wire I guess...)

May want to dial it up to 7/64ths to get a bit more diameter (if the bit will slide into the slots it's small enough)... also, you may want to try at least 10 wraps for 28gu to get over the load limit on the MVP2. Megan could tell you how many wraps, etc... I think she uses primarily 29gu. 28gu is lower resistance, so if you take Megan's # and add two wraps, you should be good - I think she tries to land at or about 1.2-1.4ohms (which should fire). Also remember, less is more with cotton (it swells!)... and wet the wick before you fire it!

Thanks Kent! I'll post results when I try it (doing coil later this week---going to try wicking a stock coil with cotton first, tonight)

You'll see a great improvement just by relaxing the wick in a stock coil.

If rebuilding for a protank, I usually use 1/16th drill bit as it will fit down to the bottom of the slot and won't risk shorting.

My tools/supplies for pt rebuilds:

29 gauge kanthal a1 (9 wraps or so - 1.8 ohm is my ideal range for pts)
1.8 mm or 1/16th drill bit
Pin vise
Cotton/kgd cotton/Rayon (all work quite well)

I've found 1.8-2.2 ohm is ideal for Kanger pt2 on mvp and vv v3.

When you pull the cotton thru, you want very little resistance as it will swell (opposite of what rayon does, but that's a whole different wicking media).

Sorry about the ot post, I just love rebuilds of the pt. Changed vaping for me.

thanks Brook! I pulled the head apart and looked at the stock coil - removed the silica wick. Maybe this particular coil isn't great, but it looks ridiculous in comparison to build photos ive seen on ECF. the coil wraps aren't really touching each other, and they're crooked to the slots - so threading the cotton seems virtually impossible. maybe I'll skip trying to thread a stock coil with cotton to trying to make my own coil. I'm not at home so itll have to wait until tomorrow though.

i actually tried threading the cotton through and it seemed impossible on the stock 2.5ohm coil :(

Some are cleaner than others. My first "rebuild" was simply replacing the wick. It's not a micro coil or contact coil. Just a standard coil. Still is exponentially better than the stock with silica.

did you have trouble feeding it through, or use any tricks to do it? I couldn't even get it fed into the first wrap andmvp2 safe ohm range if i had, the slant of the others would need straightening but i don't want to hurt it

First time, epic fail. 2nd time, I made a needle with the tip of cotton and feed it thru. Wasn't easy, but it worked! A needle threader had been said to do a good job.

I managed to get it through! Then I realized--nothing on hand to cut the ends with, bummer. Will do it again when back home. I took my tweezers and fiddled with the coil until it was straighter and aligned with the openings in the head. Then I twisted the end into a needle and it went through nicely. Of course, if it doesn't work right (my guess is it won't first wicking) I wont know if its my wick or that i screwed up the coil in moving it around :glare:

Mr. Brooks.
Wakonda is your best juice yet. Not that I've had them all, but FOOB tastes better to me then a week old virus and CLS.
My apologies for having used a dumb evod, it was the only available tank, it is still deeelicious.
Please change the sr to permanent.
