Correct me if I'm wrong, Mike, but did I custom order the first one? I made it hard on him, asked for wood he didn't even have. Sorry you didn't have wood, Mike :(

Well I never officially started taking requests but I have had some come in. So we might as well just open it up for requests. I'd copy and paste my previous post about how requests will work but im at work on a cell phone and its a pain

Bump for Mike

So I've been thinking about how to do the selling of these mods since I don't like the feeding frenzy that has happened the last few times.
So here is what I propose. Please let me hear your feedback on this.

I will have the ones pictured above available most likely Monday or Tuesday, depending when the switches get here. (had a shipping issue) Those will be posted like normal, first come, first serve.

After the above batch is sold I will start taking requests for mods. When a request is made it will be logged down and you will be able to choose...
1. Type of wood for body
2. Type of wood for caps and inlay
3. 3.7v using 18650 batt and 6ml bottle $110 OR VV using 18350 batts and 6ml bottle $160
4. Gloss or Matte Arm-R-Seal finish (best protection), Tung Oil finish, Danish Oil finish, Boiled Linseed Oil finish, or Teak Oil finish
5. Choice of LED bottle illumination. Choices are White, Blue, Red, Green, Yellow, and No LED

When a request for a mod is made It will go into a journal of mods to make in what order and I will do my best to get it made in a timely fashion. Understand that the list might get long and "Timely" might mean it might take quite a bit of time.
When the requested mod is finished I will contact the person that has requested the Mod and they will have 3 days to Pay for the mod so that it can be shipped. If payment is not made within those 3 days the Mod will be offered up to first come, first serve on the forum.
I will try to keep the mods coming out in order of of requests but please understand that if I have wood on hand to finish someones mod request that was placed after yours but I'm still waiting on your wood to ship, theirs will most likely be done first.
I will post a list of wood I currently have access to locally before I start taking requests. If the wood you desire is difficult to obtain or quite a bit more costly than the exotics I have available locally, the cost of your mod might slightly increase in price or require a deposit to obtain your wood. This will be discussed with you after your request has been made and I can locate your desired wood.

Sooooo whatcha guys think?

Well, in my personal opinion, you should keep two chargers just in case one dies. I don't know of any stores that carry this stuff... I should look into that. There might be something in Austin. Anyway, I just ordered 2 batts and a charger from madvapes ~ they usually have pretty fast shipping.

But - I understand being on a budget... if you can't swing it, we will all hold your hand and support you through the difficulty of having a hog but not being able to use it!

Will this work? It's on Amazon.

UltraFire 18650 3000mAh 3.7V Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery (Pair) + Charger Combo
by UltraFire
...
Ships from and sold by CREE-Flashlight.

I ordered those. I got the shipping notice the next day. Batteries never arrived (Post Office never confirmed reciept of product). I waited 3 weeks, emailed them. They refunded my money that day.

Ordered the exact same "item" (2 3000mah 18650's and charger) from another company on Amazon (for a total of $3.99 more) and had the batteries in about 4 days.

My conclusions: "Cree Flashlights" of Washington (first company) is reputable and my problem was almost undoubtedly USPS-related. If you *do* have a problem they will take care of it quickly, if you don't have a problem you should have your batteries within a week.

I find no functional difference between the Ultrafire 3000mahs and the Trustfire or Ultrafire 2400mahs. I recharge everyday so it's quite likely the 3000mahs last longer (they should) but I notice no difference in the behaviour or function during the first 24 hours of use.

I also find this charger to be much more useful than the charger that comes with the set you mentioned. The charger that comes with the $15.75 set from Amazon will only charge 18650's or 17670's. The charger from MadVapes (available from many places) will charge *anything* from a CR123 to an 18650--it will even handle 15270's if you slide a dime in it ;)

TLDR: The set from Amazon can't be beat on price, should be fine and should get to you quickly, but the charger is not very versatile if you ever get other mods that take different size batteries.

:)

Hmmm no charger, This is my first mod with removable batteries. Would any stores carry them or is this pretty much mail order only.

There are "local" stores but they are very rare. I know there is at least one in Dallas and I'd bet on Houston. I wouldn't bet either way on Austin--I've been surprised at what I couldn't find there on my yearly jaunts...

And will, in fact, be happy to use it for you until such a time that you are able to (or can get it back--whichever comes later).

I've tried the Ultrafires and the Trustfires and the Hellfires and Backfires and whatever else, but for my money, and yes they are pricey, nothing holds up to a LR carto better than an AW IMR. I've gotten three full evenings of vaping off one. In the 14500 species, Trustfires barely lasted three hours before I was sucking a cold straw. Just sayin....

But YAY, all my DIY stuff came today! So after months of mysterious little packages every other day, now I get bottles and jugs of pharmaceutical liquid...to be SURE my mail lady is calling the DEA

I was told by a long time ECF vet that I could charge my 3v batts on the same charger as the other batts...and thats what I've been doing

Please make sure you charge 3v batteries with the appropriate charger. They need a different one than the 3.7v batteries. Just sayin'.
