Been curious about fsk for a while. Got a limited edition 151w tc with wrecker130off code at vaporcube and some hohm life cells

Did it say G2? If not then it is the G1, you definitely want the G2, it is a whole other animal. If you just ordered it then try and cancel and get the G2 instead, you will be glad you did.

Its the one listed for 180$ before code. How does it compare to dna75 dna200 (using most Sdna75 cvs, does n80tc reads atomizer to.0000

Yeah, that is the G1, you want this one: HΩ Wrecker G2 (Hohm Wrecker) 171W Temperature Control Box Mod - Best Sellers

Use the code I listed above and it comes out to $44.97 and is awesome.

I had a Triade DNA200 and sold it when I heard the DNA250 was coming out, plan on buying the Think Vape Finder dna 167. I also have a SMY SDNA75 and hcigar VT75, both great mods. I do prefer my Hohm mods better though, more flexible, I am doing TC on the new Nichrome N80 square wire from kidney puncher on my G2 and it is great. Even more regular SS I prefer the G2 over my dna's because I can adjust the vape I want on the fly without having to hook it up to a computer. Overall my favorite mods come from Hohmtech and I have just about every chip out there.

After unboxing my new G2, I noticed there is no USB cable for updating... Is there supposed to be one included?

I have several micro USB cables from other mods etc. What type of USB cable is needed though? How also to check the current firmware version before trying to update. Kind of frustrated right now but I have tons of USB cables so if it really isnt supposed to come with one I should have a cable that will work!

DNAs are highly accurate and handle many wire types. You own them because they are recognized as the innovator of TC, and as such, the standard of the industry. They allow great user customization from within Escribe.

Hohmtech took a different approach. Everything is adjustable on the mod. Many wire types are fairly accurate in default modes but Hohmtech made them so the mod would not determine what is accurate and force a user to operate within that parameter. They instead allow a user to adjust just what reality means to them.

Hohmtech can TC Kanthal, Nichrome & for that matter any wire by projecting a hypothetical TC curve for that wire type and not necessarily defining where on that curve a user is. They expect you to be experienced enough with TC for you to define just where you are on that curve using the FSK % to dial it in. The result is you adjust the mod to the vape rather than the vape to the mod, if that makes any sense.

The benefit is that you own a mod that picks up where a DNA leaves off and can do what no DNA can. You can TC Kanthal, NiChrome, and drive complex multiple & Clapton coil builds in TC that DNAs can intrinsically be challenged with.

By the same token, IMO, a DNA can be indispensable in reliably comparing the accuracy of your perceptions of what temperature you are in reality operating at. Therefore IMO the boards that Evolv and Hohmtech produce complement one another in your vaping arsenal and while both stand alone quite well, together they allow you to do anything you could ever hope to try.

Any standard full Data usb cable will work. Never even realized if I got a cable or not as I usually leave in box until I need one. I think it is press & hold mode & + to access menu where you will find the firmware stats.

Full data means not a cable you would get just for charging? I didn't know usb cables are out there that can't send data. I have a usb cable that came with my xcube2 that I was thinking of using. I used it to update the xcube about a year ago.

Hope I grab the right cable cuz it looks a lot like the cable that came with my sigelei mini 30w that's just for charging. Lol they're both in the same drawer. I suppose I should look through my computer wires which are stored separately from usb cables from mods I've bought maybe find a longer cable would make it easier anyway.

It's the smallest usb size right the micro usb? Gotta be that or the mini usb size which is a little fatter plug if I remember correctly. I'll get this figured out soon enough I'm waiting on some brand new batteries anyway probably arriving Friday so in no rush to update until batteries come in mail.

Just checked one of my G2 boxes and yeah, no USB in there as well. I just use whatever I have handy and it works.

There can be some play on the door if your batteries are double wrapped or have extra stickers. I have 4 G2's and only the Silver I just got has a little play, I noticed one of the magnets on the battery door is sticking out a little than the other. I guess I could fix it by putting it down on a soft surface with something under it and tapping down the magnet but it is so slight I only notice it if I intentionally move the door.

Nah fresh HE2's, They do go in tight though so maybe that's it. Yeah it only moves if I touch it by pushing it up and down, was just curious if it was normal. Besides that and the little missing paint its perfect really, gonna grab a paint marker(Not sure if I should use oil or water based tho) to touch it up.

Think updating should be easy. When you plug the mod in will the computer recognize it or the updating tool, before I actually copy the newest firmware to the G2? Probably over thinking but lmk if there's anything else i should know when updating. Looks like you keep the batteries in when you update. Little different than the xcube2 where you specifically had to have the batteries out. Can't wait till my hg2s come in on Friday be able to use Nife52 25G 25G SS430, git some SS 304 and 316L as well. Got plenty of wire to play with the FSK chip, hoping the TC is awesome!

Yes, batteries in and mod on but don't plug it in until prompted. Honesty I'm a tech klutz so I seemed to be having more problems than what others were indicating. What ended up working for me was go to HT site, download the updater utility and latest version of firmware and drag them to the desktop. Run updater, it asks for firmware and then prompts for mod plug in. Find 'upgrade port' on the mod menu and plug in the usb, click update on the utility and yeah, there you go, voila.

Now, problem I had was with one laptop at home running W7 and another with W8, both with Firefox as default, neither seemed to work. Some said the HT firmware was configured for W10 but for whatever reason I've resisted updating that. I watched all the vids and tutorials and got nowhere. :-x Frustrated and seemingly out of ideas, (and here's where you promise not to laugh) I pulled an old laptop off the shelf running WVista that had a mini, low resource browser I had used (QTWeb) and. that. was. what. worked! o_O

Whether it was the OS, browser or most likely operator error idk but that was what worked. I have 3 G2 mods so after the first obviously the other two were a breeze. If this offers even a smidgen of relief to the frustration I experienced, I'll be glad.

The easiest way to do the update is to watch the video they have on hohmtech's website. They go over the whole update process. You have to turn on a update port or something like that on the mod before you plug it in, it is all on the video.
