I been only using the "digital watts mode" for the past week or so just to compare the performance of the G2 vs my Sigelei 150 and XCube 2. 25 watts with a 0.3 ohm dual coil. 7 wraps spaced kanthal 24G around 3mm. The performance in wattage mode seems a little better than my other mods. I will go back to xxx mode eventually but nice at least with kanthal to know that the wattage mode works and the battery life seems quite good.

With the 316L no luck but I believe it might just be the wire giving me that metallic taste. The Nife52 needs further testing(my wicking may be off with the nife52 coils, not to mention im trying two new ejuice recipes for the first time with those Nife52 tanks.)

The 316L though my wicking is perfect and there is ejuice in there that i really like and im still getting an off putting metal taste. I have never used this spool of 316L before that I got from fasttech but it is 24G 316L.

Otherwise Im really liking the quality of the G2 overall. For example the battery sled on the G2 is really nice! Effortlessly my 18650s come out and easy to put in after changing a few times. Maybe I wont tear any more battery wrappers with such a nice sled!
I know raymo2u, the awesome coil builder uses the G2 in power mode a lot, one of the only regulated mods he uses, the rest are all mech mods. It is funny because most of my other mods I use in power mode, the Hohm tech mods I use almost 100% in TC mode.

Santa did just deliver a finder 167 dna and Triade DNA250 mods, they are real good lookers but take a lot more time for me to set up for how I like to vape. Different strokes for different folks though, whatever keeps us off the stinkies.

Here is my NEW Dodger Blue G2 LE, topped with my Lemo (FW version 2.5.5) and it seems to be working pretty good, I've got a set of Samsung Baby Blue's in her;

I have to admit, I am jealous, the LE looks real nice compared to my SE G2...hahaha. I went back and forth about asking for another G2 in either the blue LE or orange but thought I would go in another direction, now I wish I had what you have bud.

Merry Christmas and I hope you all have a Happy New Year

mjag, any opinion on the rx300? I dont think ill buy any more mods for awhile but the 4 battery rx300 looks intriguing especially being its only 39.99 shipped. Guess nobody really has the rx300 yet as I believe their in preorder.

Nice Xmas gifts btw! The lost vape Triade is supposed to be the nicest DNA mod you can buy. (at least from what ive seen) I wouldnt be suprised if it becomes your favorite very quickly. There are supposed to be a bunch of different types of battery covers(various leather, carbon fiber etc.)on ebay and other places making it very easy to customize the look.

The only thing I wonder about the rx300 is if they will be using a better 510, I have a rx200 and 200S and the 510 is the weak spot on the mod.

The Finder 167 is real nice, great build quality, love it. I had a Triade DNA200 before but sold it when I noticed the paint starting to bubble in a few spots. The new Triade DNA250 looks really nice, I hope they improved the QC over the dna200 version. If I had to pick only one DNA250 board device it would be the Finder 167 though, the fit and finish is just great the the presets work like a charm, only have to connect to escribe to adjust the battery preset and preferences.

I am an equal opportunity vapor, the Hohm tech FSK boards are my favorite because I don't have to connect them to a pc to make changes. DNA boards are excellent but have limitations compared to FSK boards, not a knock but a reality. Nobody makes a Triade FSK or Finder FSK mod though so I have to settle for style.....lol

I just thought about this, instead of the rx300 you might want to wait a little for the Smok GX350. I don't know much about either one except that Smok has been putting out better mods than Wismec lately.

My new Blue G2 LE is looking and running Fantastically for me, though it started out a little sketchy.

When I first got it, I already had (2) sets of married Samsung Baby Blues in my battery drawer that I had earmarked for my Cuboid previously, but, only used each once, then put the Cuboid away for Vapepocalypse (still looking for a suitable dolly to drag it around on ;)), so I checked the charge, as they had been sitting for about 6 months, they were still at 4.15v, so good enough for me.

When I unboxed the G2 and did a thorough walk-around and saw nothing suspect, so I proceeded to load it up with a set of Baby Blue 25r's. Here's where things got a little weird. I put the 25r's in and saw the screen come to life then go blank, OK, that's normal, I'll just turn my new G2 on now. I pressed and held the mode button for 1,2,3,4,5,6, all the way past 10 seconds and nothing, so I kept holding for about 30 seconds and still nothing. Huh.... I took the batteries out and re-installed them being Very careful of the orientation, though the first time was correct as I always watch out for that anyways. Still nothing though on the second try, so I got the 2nd set of 25r's out and put them in and tried to start up my G2, again nothing. Well Crap, did I get a dud ?? I took the batteries out and exercised the battery contacts in and out a few times, seemed to have a few catches that worked out and smoothed up by doing so, and looked the G2 over again real close this time, still no problems to find. Tried it again a 3rd time and loaded up the batteries, Success !! Finally got it to turn on. Weird though, but Success this time, the battery meter read 100%.

After the interesting start with the battery drama, I decided to exercise the 510 pin in and out a few times to limber that part up a bit also, it too was a bit sticky, but smoothed out as I went through the paces. I refer you to this post; HOHM Wrecker 151W TC ? but will note that when the G2 first read the resistance it got a 1.10Ω reading, which I thought to be a bit low, but wondered if this G2 was just gonna read low on all my builds, some mods do read a bit low and some read a bit high I have found throughout my over 2 years of vaping, so I'll have to keep an eye on that as I go along.

I was vaping happily along for about an hour then it hit me, according to the chart in the manual, NiCr is supposed to FSK a little higher than Kanthal right ? Mine is doing just the opposite. What's up here ?? Further research on my part is warranted I think. This G2 is turning into an adventure, for sure !!

Next post, as this is getting a little long. Ya Think ??

As long as your menu button doesn't fire the G2 like mine did lol.

I had to escalate my claim with paypal 10 days ago. Vaporcube ignored my phone calls and messages, and today is the last day for them to respond according to paypal's policy. If I do indeed get refunded, I guess I'll take it apart and see if there's an extra glob of solder on the board joining the fire and menu buttons.

So, after about an hour, I stopped vaping the G2, let it get cold, took the Lemo Off and set it aside for about 45 minutes. I pressed the fire button on the G2 to get the "Connect Atomizer" message then reattached the Lemo. Resistance was now reading 1.40Ω, Interesting. I then started to re-calibrate the G2 (from 14.6% in FSK mode) by going down to....

To make a Long story short, I'm now at a FSK setting of 0.5%, resistance is 1.49Ω, 4.8v, 16 Watts, xXx, 420°F with a double Twisted 30g Kanthal A-1 coil, and vaping really well. Same build in the same Lemo. Could it be that a brand new build just had to, for lack of a better term, Cure ?? I'll leave that to others to figure out what happened, as I'm still in "Learning Mode" with this FSK chip, and TC in general for that matter.

I'm lov'in my new, Blue, G2. Now that it's all settled in and working Great, just like my (2) Slice's. Seems like a new car, and the "Break-In Period". I have NO Complaints at all. Glad I got it. :thumbs:

Now all I need is to get a Blue MTL RTA that suits me and my G2 a bit better than that Black Lemo does. It vapes Great, but whistles some and bothers the wife. :facepalm:

This is the first TC Device I have that I use TC on, and just because it does Kanthal and NiCchome 80 (NiCr), the (2) wires that I have stocked up on and like. I just never was enthused about getting into Ni200, Titanium, Stainless (though I have thought about SS) or the other exotic metals. I stopped smoking due to Kanthal and NiChrome, and have Always used Power, or Watts mode with Great success, and saw No need to branch out and try other types of metals just to go TC. FINALLY, a mod that does Kanthal/NiChrome and can TC any configuration of coils that one can put into a Atomizer. HohmTech has filled a void in the vape industry that really needed to be filled, and could ONLY be filled, by Americans, as usual.

Thank You HohmTech. :thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:

I've gone through 2 full Lemo tank fulls (that's 10ml) and part of a 3rd tank and have 42% on my battery gauge showing on my G2 in xXx mode. Since I still run the same builds in my Lemo now, as opposed to back when I last checked battery longevity on my Cuboid, when I got about 1.75 tank fulls on the very same batteries (same married pair), and on the Cuboid I was running it in Power mode at 16 watts. I got 1 tank full with my Lemo on my VTC mini with (1) 18650, so I guess this G2 with Kanthal in xXx mode really does conserve batteries as compared with some dual 18650 mods, and over twice as much as some single 18650 mods. C O O L !! :)

If I remember correctly, Temp mode is supposed to go thru batteries Faster than Power mode, correct ??

Depends on the Chip-set. DNA200 and FSK are theoretically 95% efficient. DNA75 is 85% efficient and JT Boards tend to run at 70%-80% efficiency. JT boards run less efficient in TC than Power. DNAs & FSKs tend to run more efficiently in TC than Power.

Where did you get those numbers from? I've seen the DNA percentages but never the numbers for Joyetech or Hohmtech.

Holmtech publishes a 95% efficiency claim on their site. The Joyetech numbers are based on my own side by side, very unscientific comparisons next to DNAs and as such are a guesstimate range accordingly. It is a guess, but not that far from actual, depending on the mod in question (cuboid less efficient than Evic).

Do you have different values for efficiency based on your own testing? I know your a big emphasis battery safety guy and I am willing to defer to your opinion if you have refuting data.

3 days of silence from vaporcube until I escalated my claim, and then just got an email saying call us. I called and left messages to no avail, and they never responded to the 3 emails Paypal sent them. Shame. Paypal refunded me...pity I can't figure out how to repair the issue.
Seemed like you had a pretty good theory in your previous post as to what might be causing it. Have you disassembled it and examined the board?

I sure did. Not a trace...heh...of stray solder. I went over it with a fine tooth comb (a magnifying glass tbh) and could find no reason as to why the menu button acts like a firing button (they are definitely crossed somewhere, as the firing button ALSO behaves as the menu buton when firing is locked)

A firmware upgrade did nothing, so it's definitely harware.
