code G2FLASHX1 brings it to 44.97, came to 48 and change with shipping.

Couldn't pass this deal up and I'm glad I pulled the trigger this morning before I had thanksgivings food etc lol. Got the Cut Silver color and it will undoubtedly look a lot like my sig 150 that I also have in silver. :)

1st things first need to educate myself on upgrading to 171w also so I can get the most improved latest TC updates. Have to download the upgrade tool or whatever... hope it's easier than upgrading the firmware on my smok xcube2 when I went up to 180w. Also hope it works fine using windows 7. Probably easier than smoks upgrade tool lol. The xcube2 is the only exp I have upgrading box mod firmware.

Need to know the best way to use my nife52 wire and also SS430. The Nife my favorite so it's most important I get the proper settings for it... believe I need to use xxx mode?

Excited right now!

I got the black one, I own mostly silver tanks, I just like the contrast together.

From the reviews I read and saw, the updates seem easy and it's explained fairly well...and I have heard smok updates can be a horror show for some, no offense to the devices(Some are great) but it's quite obvious they need better translators, example: Being with you for all great vaping time! and devs.

I got lucky but yes updating smok FW can be tricky and that smok bec app had its share of problems. I love my xcube2 though thing is a tank. Never could really get TC working with any wire on the cube so I hesitated on buying the xcube ultra. Glad I decided to get the g2 instead. Hopefully it has like an escribe equivilant we can run on the computer. But if not thats cool I know for under 50 bucks were sure getting the most bang for our buck. I wanna try kanthal in TC almost as badly as the ss and Nife wires I have. LOL so cool they said it couldn't be done but TC on kanthal wow! No more dry hits! I might need to pick up some fancy kanthal like that Alienwire flat Claptons!

Firmware update is straightforward & quick. Just follow video & you will do fine. Win7 not an issue.

I have only used the FSK in Kanthal and there the settings thing is more you adjusting to what works rather than using specific numbers. You are adjusting the numbers to the vape so you can use the numbers to adjust the vape. I would just say start out low and raise it till it seems right. Once you get more familiar with the chip, you will see it really is the best advice as the numbers themselves don't matter as much as you adjusting your experience to what you expect it to be.

In other wire modes the FSK is supposedly highly accurate. Mjag can probably give you a starting point to save time in these modes.

I paid about $65 for my G2 so you got a good deal.

I think it's all done on the device actually, heard it works well though. I heard TC was an issue on that smok model.

Found a vid on the updating process.

Thanks should be a breeze doing TC compared to what I'm used to.

Another thing was wondering I pretty much know the answer to my own question but will Samsung 25rs perform nicely in the g2 or should I upgrade a bit and go for the HE4? Only batteries I have used are Sony vtc4, vtc5 and the 25rs. I've always thought unless you are drawing some serious Amps continuously, having the wattage turned up with ridicoulously low ohms then it shouldn't matter. As long as you don't buy some fake Efest doesn't really matter between Samsung Sony or lg.

Also the G2 accepts flat tops and button top 18650s? Did I read that correctly in the specs? Are flat tops easier to get in and out and less prone to the heat shrink wrap tearing?

Let me know what batteries specifically your using or planning to use with the G2, cause think I might go with something different besides the 25rs. Could use the suggestions :)

In my experience with the G2
-New pairs of 25r's perform well but I have noticed TC mode does seem to drain batts just a tad quicker than equivalent watts mode, no big issue however. The battery sled is fantastic.
-TC for kanthal (or any wire for that matter) works fabulously well once FSK temp curve is dialed in for your setup and getting it right is much simpler than it sounds. It's a great utility, easy to adjust on the fly.
-Firmware updates, again much simpler than my tech challenged self thought, once I realized the driver that Windows was looking for was in the already downloaded update file, duh.

Thanks probably go with more Sammys then. Really can't wait to try the fsk temp curve. Seems like it could be more precise than just entering the TCR because I'd imagine you take a few puffs then increase or decrease in temperature based on feel and instincts. I could anticipate a period getting acclimated with these controls but once I get used to it the ability to fine tune the temp for any wire will be amazing. I have so many spools of wire to try. Kid in a candy store type feeling if you got the wire you can TC it! LOL I'll even try old school NiChrome in TC have some Ni80 prebuilt coils friend gave me. I don't want to get too enthused about the g2 before it even comes in the mail but wow this could be the mod of all mods. Need to take it down a notch lol don't think I've ever felt this geeked up about any ecig related purchase.

I was intrigued but at the same time weary that it might not work. It took me a little while to get the hang of it but once I did it became my favorite mod.

I need to be honest that I was mainly a power user before the G2. I like a smooth consistent vape when I am driving so TC like in my DNA mods is great. Aside from that though I like a dense flavorful cloud, more so then a lot of my friends. This is why the G2 excels for me, I can set it to hit like a mech or VW mod in power mode but save me from dry hits when I run low on juice.

I just love the consistency of the mod for the type of vape I prefer. It can also be used to mimic a dna tyoe tc vape. Just takes some experimentation on the users part.

It does work diferently in some ways than other mods. Make sure and read the users manual and feel free to ask questions. I know if I didn't ask questions I may not have liked the G2, it confused me at first.

Have fun with your new toy!

Edit: as far as increase and decrease the FSK % has more to do with it then the temp IMO. If it is too cold turn up the FSK %, too hot turn it down. You can also make adjustments to the power and temp but the FSK is the key when adjusting kanthal and in the xxx mode.

I mean you couldn't go wrong grabbing another pair or two of batteries, 101vape has a great deal, I grabbed 2 pairs of HE2's.

HE2

or HE4

TBH I don't know the difference, even if there is one in a regulated device, I feel like the difference might be more for mechs.

I believe the HE4 is the newer/upgraded version of the HE2. In what way I'm not sure. I believe they are both 20amp, 2500mah cells. If I had to guess I would say maybe they heat up less at higher amp draws or maybe they give you a tad longer runtimes.

Cheers,
Steve

That was the main takeaway from a recent Mooch article I read comparing the two, the HE4 was cooler running. I'll post the link if I can find it.

The Sony vtc6 (3000 mAh, 19/20 amps) and vtc5a (2500 mAh, 25 amps) should be added to that list).

How about the lg hg2 vs the lg he4?

Was thinking about getting a 3000mah battery this time which the hg2 is. Don't know which would be better specifically for using with the g2. Have no exp with lg batteries. I have mainly used 25rs and vtc5s. Maybe I should stick with what I know.

Those are great, I use them in my RX200, they should work fine and give you an extra 1000mah.

Think Lightningvapes has a 30% off sale on em.

Yea I dont think the difference will be all that noticable whether I get 25rs, VTC5s, HG2s, or HE4s.

Even have a new version of the VTC5 called the VTC5a not exactly sure what the difference is. The VTC5 I suppose is 20A and the VTC5a is 25A but I remember people always arguing saying the original VTC5 was 30A lol.

I have until Monday morning to decide cause nothing will ship anyway until then. Might have to read up on the VTC5a and also the VTC6 just out of curiosity if nothing else.

Yeah get what seems best to you, I would wager any of the above are fine for regulated devices, it becomes more complex with unregulated from what I have gathered.

18650 Battery Buying Guide for Vapor Users – Wake and Vape Blog

Found an excellent article, kind of old but there is some useful advice here.

I think that the Samsung 25r is technically still king as far as performance in drawing amps is concerned. Somebody correct me if I am wrong but if the hg2 and the 25r were to both draw 20a continuously wouldn't the 25r stay cooler? I know the hg2 and 25r are both rated 20a but say you turned the hohm wrecker to 171w... would you be more confident doing 171w with the 25r or the hg2? Which batteries after firing at 171w would keep the mod cooler?

Thanks and as you can see I haven't decided yet lol
