There is a lot of .... hurt over there in that thread, on both sides of the argument for sure.I dozed off about 2 pages in, if I wanted to bicker like that I would still be married.

That seems pretty high for claptons, I am guessing they would have to be 28g or lower core. To get that high maybe they are wiring in series?Question; I see some that use Claptons that are 1.5Ω and are suppose to be Kanthal. What are they (how are they wrapped) ?? Hows the ramp up time and wattage requirements ??

I am just guessing, I generally build between .50 and .1 ohms depending on tank and mod I am using.

I've used the FSK curve from low to high, up to 100 on some builds with kanthal. I think when I got the first G2 I was thinking it was some kind of delicate electrical circuit but it's not. It's been fun to play with and try to dial in the kind of vape I'm looking for, in fact it's helped me to better decide what kind of vape I like.
I been only using the "digital watts mode" for the past week or so just to compare the performance of the G2 vs my Sigelei 150 and XCube 2. 25 watts with a 0.3 ohm dual coil. 7 wraps spaced kanthal 24G around 3mm. The performance in wattage mode seems a little better than my other mods. I will go back to xxx mode eventually but nice at least with kanthal to know that the wattage mode works and the battery life seems quite good.
With the 316L no luck but I believe it might just be the wire giving me that metallic taste. The Nife52 needs further testing(my wicking may be off with the nife52 coils, not to mention im trying two new ejuice recipes for the first time with those Nife52 tanks.)
The 316L though my wicking is perfect and there is ejuice in there that i really like and im still getting an off putting metal taste. I have never used this spool of 316L before that I got from fasttech but it is 24G 316L.
Otherwise Im really liking the quality of the G2 overall. For example the battery sled on the G2 is really nice! Effortlessly my 18650s come out and easy to put in after changing a few times. Maybe I wont tear any more battery wrappers with such a nice sled!
I just did a rebuild on my Lemo/Slice combination and took out my NiCr coil and replaced it with a 30g Double Twisted Kanthal A-1, 3mm, 6/5 wrap, 1.40Ω coil. A first time for me using Kanthal wire in my HΩ Slice SE.
After I got the Lemo built, I cleared my Slice by pressing the fire button till the screen read "Connect Atomizer", then put my newly built Lemo on. Being as this was a first for me using Kanthal, I set my temp at 410°F, 16 Watts, xXx mode, and set the FSK at 6% and went up by .5% till it fired, and that was at 15%, so I then waited till my Lemo got cold again, and started at 13% and went up by .1%. When I got to 14.6% it fired at 410°F. The vape was a little cool so I raised the temp to 420°F and liked that, so I think I will keep those settings.
I'm using KGD as wicking and DL/wide open airflow on my Lemo, and Rayon/NiCr 80 in my Fev3 and 4 with tight MTL/1.45mm and 1.50mm air hole inserts (the smallest air inserts that came with each Fev).
My (2) HΩ Slice SE's are really performing Stunningly Perfect for me, couldn't be happier with them. I am looking forward to opening my Blue G2 LE later today when family gets here and presents are opened.

Bit bigger than the Slice huh, but it will push a lot higher. See VAPORCUBE has restocked but at a much higher price. Good you got it while the getting was good.
