Ah, "SirRichard". Good to see you over here. You're Videos are Great, some of the first (if not the first) I had seen on the FSK chip when I got into researching them for my own entry into the TC world. The fact that I could finally TC Kanthal & NiCr had me interested from the first (I had heard about Hohmtech's mod's way back), I just let all the early adopters get into it in the beginning so as to see if it really was something I wanted to use, or could use, for the way I like to vape. You're style of vaping is very different from mine, but the ease at which you set the chip up and got it going showed me that maybe I could use the FSK for my style of vaping also. I always read a lot on things before I decide to jump in, my only cause for concern was when one of "Ben's" videos alluded to the fact that It might not work for tight draw, low watts, low airflow vaping, that is what kept me out of the game for so long (I finally got in back in the beginning of Dec. 2016), that and good 'ol Busardo's video where he managed to screw things ALL up. Those 2 people kept me at a distance for a long time, but, then I happened across one of you're videos and I got interested all over again. I jumped on this forum's "HOHM Wrecker 151W TC" thread and PM'd Tpat and he got me going with a coupon code and site to go to, and the rest is history, as they say.

Thank You SirRichard, I now have (3) Slice SE's and (1) G2 LE, and counting.

Again, glad to see you over here, and welcome to the forum.

Wow. Just thanks! So glad to hear I was able to help. It really makes it all worth the time and effort when I can affect someone positively! That's what's great about the device. They work for any style of vaping. I'm glad u found the right device for you. Nothing is better then finding that 1 device that really suits you. It's like finding the perfect pair of shoes that just fit

Where did you find this graph and info? I looked on the Evolv forum and did a search, but didn't see it.
Mike is a Beta tester for Evolv and had a 1hr long conversation w/ Branden from Evolv regarding DNA60 small screen delays & other big things in the pipeline coming from Evolv which he cannot discuss due to NDA. One fairly significant release is due in a month or two but I have no idea what it is.

That graph came from Branden directly during their conversation and essentially Branden was saying that scientific testing was showing production of byproducts at lower temps than previously thought. Evolv supposedly published that graph in past somewhere, so it was not a violation of NDA for Mike to share it with us. It was based on a 50/50 mix unflavored with unknown nic concentration. That is all I know but I was very surprised at 470 being the temp where it is produced when I remembered it was previously thought to be 550 - 600 degf before it was produced. That is all I can tell you about it.

I do know that Evolv is heavily involved in setting up Scientific Standards Testing for several studies involving vaping safety. I assume the graph came from preliminary work involving these studies.

Sir Richard, thought that was you changing your name (from watching the Vids). See you changed your name on the far side too. Avoiding confusion I guess.

Just got delivery on that Copper/Antique Bronze Battlestar from FastTech you were recommending. Like it. Great form factor & a really beautiful mod. If it was just a little taller, the slice chip might have fit, but obviously the up/down buttons would need to be configured & mod repainted (not the bronze one - too pretty to screw up). She'll easily take a DNA with no visible modification though. Really nice configuration.

Thanks for the advice & info.

Might have to get another during the FT CNY 20% off sale.

Yeah when I made my account I wasn't doing reviews and when I decided to do them calling it a classy dick .... review wasn't really gonna fly so I tried to change it up so there is less confusion.

Glad u like the battlestar. I love mine testing is done but need to record a review for it. It passed with flying colors though. Best dual 18650 mod under 40 bucks for sure. And the copper looks sick. Would love an fsk version though

Copper Battlestar for the win, love mine!

The chip works real well, battery life seems to be draining quicker than my other dual 18650 mods though, you guys notice that? Other than that though it's a killer deal and the finish is just so damn sexy.

Who let anthony vapes in anyway, this use to be a classy place....lol. jk, gotta give him a hard time

Aah, so the battery meter is a "little off" then ?? As long as it is only a "little off", then should be no problem I would think, for most of us at least.

Idk if I would say off. It just chunks of 4 so I think each one is 20% so when your out of bars u still have 20% left if that makes sense

Smoant chips are not very energy efficient in either Battlestar or Knight V2. They work fairly well though but not updateable which is just plain silly in today's age. Both are damn nice mods though.

That's why I waited to hear how it works, anthony vapes gave me his thoughts which was good enough for me.

Not being updatable is a con but it works great and for $37 I am fine with that, at least it's not a Sigelei....lol

To be honest, if it works right the first time why would u need to update? Of course I prefer the firmware update option but realistically it does tc very well and hits it's mark in wattage mode so really not much to improve on. Also I'd be shocked if the board isn't at minimum 90% efficiency

DNA75 is rated 85% efficiency and my SDNA lasts noticeably longer than my Knight V2. Battlestar seems on par efficiency wise with the knight. Just sayin....

I'm not dissing the Smoant units as I really like the unique configs and workmanship, & finish, just telling those who might want one what to realistically expect. They are surprisingly good units for Chinese off brand clone chips. I was never a Cloupor fan, but they have done well with the Smoant Brand. The assembly methods of the Knight v2 & Battlestar almost look like Joyetech built them.

That's an interesting take. I think I'm gonna have to run some tests to check the efficiency of the boards. 85 just feels low. It would be able to fire 100+ watts with nearly dead batteries like it does. The dna 75 because of the poor efficiency doesn't fire very well when batteries get low like 30% but I will look more into this for sure.

So basically yeah it'll be an easy test to run.
I have to hook up both channels of my oscilloscope to the mod, one to the input form the batteries and one to the output of the board. take the readings a divide output by input to get the efficiency rating. fairly simple test. so for instance if it draws 5 volts from the battery to put out 4.5 volts at the 510 pin it would be 4.5/5 * 100 = 90% efficient. so when i get a chance probably this weekend I'll take it apart and run some tests to find the efficiency

Look forward to the results. The 85% figure for DNA75 is published by Evolv. I lack any such equipment to test or time to bother. merely a seat of my pants assessment which may have more to do with the individual HE4 cells I'm using. I have also heard from a few other experienced users complaining of fast battery drain on Knight V2 & Battlestar Smoant units.

Will gladly defer to your testing results & hope to hear what you come up with and adjust my opinion accordingly.

well w/o testing. i have about 30 mods or so including some really efficient ones (hohm wrecker G2 and 3 DNA 200/250 mods) and I honestly don't notice any difference in battery life in regular use. But i will test it to confirm ;)
