HOLY EXCREMENT!! My Prodigy arrived

Oh my dear God.

Let me begin by saying THANKS to Casey. Keeping us all updated even with the massive amounts of orders they had to process through the Holiday weekend. I ordered late Tuesday night and my Prodigy already arrived today. Many thanks for the hard work and quick delivery!


One issue is that my charger isn't in full working order. One of the prongs is broken and doesn't want to hold the battery in place. I can wedge it with some playing, but this won't work for long. I'll have to go out and find a charger locally.

Ok, so I waited patiently for that little green light on the charger to pop on.
I was pacing like a child. I took that time to clean out about 6 510 attys to have them ready. Luckily my juice order from truesmoker arrived with one of my faves: Peanut Butter!

The light turned green and I was off and running....

I expected a big difference. I knew it would be better than vaping any of my regular e-cigs... but OMG this is fantastic! My flavors have come alive probably 50% more intense than in my regular 510s, and the vapor production is simply astounding.

Throat hit is exceptional, sometimes overwhelming if I hold the button too long.

NO BURNED TASTE to any flavor, even my sweetest ones like malamar.

Button activation is smooth, solid and sure. A very positive feedback to your finger/thumb. I was worried about not having an LED to assure me of activation, but my worry was eliminated on the first press.

As others have noted, this is NOT a cartridge device, it is a dripping machine. You'll blow through that cart in not time and burn up your atty. So I'll keep a juiced cart in, but it'll be all about dripping for sure with this thing.

Ok, I can't type anymore. For one, I am a bit jittery from hitting this thing so much, and another... I don't care about jittery, I'm gonna stop typing so I can vape some more. I have about 12 other flavors I wanna experience through this.... it's like vaping my favorite flavors for the very first time!!

Actually the Prodigy works great with carts if you are not using the high bridge atomizer supplied by Puresmoker. I have been refilling the same cart for two months now without problems. It consistently wicks 10-12 drops to the atomizer before needing refilling. I top it off about once an hour. Just trying to dispel the myth

Anyway congrats. I was blown away on the first puff too. Maintenance tips. Push the plastic back a bit on one of your batteries to maintain a good connection with the spring. Clean the threads on both ends of the Prodigy every day to remove corrosion. This becomes a biger problem as it ages (Can't wait for a stainless version). Clean the threaded end that connects to the atomizer every day too with a pencil eraser. Just make it a morning ritual or at least something you automatically do when vapor production declines. Don't be suprised if it ocassionally just stops working. The tips above will correct the problem 99.9% of the time.

I JUST got mine too, just popped the batteries in to the charger moments ago. I'm painfully awaiting the green light also, haha.

I'm glad you're enjoying it, I'm pretty sure I know what to expect since I own the passthrough already, but I'm looking forward to not being tethered to a power source. I've even heard that the prodigy delivers even more vapor than the PT, but I'm skeptical. We'll see.

Either way, it's a gorgeous device and it's put together SO well.
It even seems that flaws that I noticed in older video reviews of the prodigy are now non-existent.

To keep atty's from giving off a burnt taste, use Pure grain alcohol every couple of days to keep 'em clean.

I fill the atomizer with about 1/4 of Ever Clear 190 proof alcohol. Cover the main air hole with index finger and pour in a little alcohol. Cover with your thumb on the top, Shake back and fourth, and drain. Rinse with hot water, then repeat with alcohol. Blow out through the air hole and dry.
I do this and it keeps the atty's fresh, the small air holes will keep from getting gummed up also.
Keeping a clean atomizer will reduce the need to "over work" it.

Since I've been doing this, my atty has two week's use on it... and still going strong!

I cleaned my brass connections with MASS brand metal polishing creme from Wal-Mart. Q-tips work great for applying and removing the polishing creme. You'll be amazed at the amount of black tarnish that comes off of the metal. Also wipe down the aluminum end caps/threads. Be sure to get the threads on the main body also.
When your done, all of the metal should have a "chrome-like" shine.

Your connections will be in tip-top condition,,, and the performance will stay simply amazing.

Don't store your Prodigy up right when not in use. Keep it lying flat. That will help keep the small air holes from flooding/clogging up.

Like I wasn't already anxious enough to get mine, now I read this....
So glad you are loving it...I think mine might arrive today.

I have a question about dripping - I'm going to be using my 510 attys, too, Bandit. I've dripped with the 510 and I'm wondering if you have to drip more often or how it compares to just the plain ole 510.

Does the Prodigy not come charged?

I know it's recommended for dripping..but I don't drip, ever...I use the 901 adapter, fill the cartridge with 7'ish drops, vape a bit, refill every so often... I don't take the 4-6 second drags though. I vape it like I smoked, a couple seconds per drag perhaps.. Maybe it's how you vape that determines which method works best for you? It seems those that drip are "hardcore" (lol) and suck for longer than I can hold my breath so maybe that's harder on an atomizer if you don't drip..or..something.... /shrug. I do go through about 3-4ml of juice a day, so I don't consider myself a light vaper by any means....

Incidentally I got my Prodigy on August 4, and I'm still using the same atomizer, which I had been using for about a month prior to THAT on a cheap 901 passthrough.... I just blow it out about every other day. (if it seems vapor is a bit low) It's the Wonder Vaper!! hehe

I have been drippin and using carts. But seeing as the throat hit and vape is so awesome, with a cart, I dont "need" to drip anymore like I did with the 3.7 volt device. I use the dura carts, they hold 2x the 901 carts, and with a tiny squeeze of the atomizer top with a hemo, the dura cart sits snug. Been doing this since yesterday and it works awesome, no burnt cart material or taste, and it lasts a good hour+ before I have to refill the cart. Couple that with the awesome battery life and super easy puffin, and you have vaping heaven. forgot to mention I'm using 901 atomizers as well..and I use a mix of 36mg and vg, brings it to about 26-28mg strength, and I used to smoke a pack and half of camels daily. I go thru about 3 ml of juice a day. Be cuttin that down some me thinks..
