Both grow surprisingly well up here in zone 6b(the tobacco moreso)...My plant is/was flowering now actually.(jasmine tobacco iirc) It just died yesterday finally after the past month of cold temps. It has been dipping down to the low 30's pretty consistantly for the past 40 days or so. I've been surprised at how cold tolerant this variety is. It stayed growing strong even with the low temps. It didn't mature fully though. The bottom leafs haven't even started to yellow. I think what happened is that it froze and now it looks wilted.

The cotton was started indoors last winter and I ended up getting 2 harvests from it, one during mid/end of winter and the second during the fall after reverting it back to it's vegetative growth cycle during the summer. Each time it developed a rock hard bud which popped open after a week or so. Each harvest was equivalent to 10 or so standard cotton balls if I had to guess.

Now thats interesting.....

Grow our own tobacco..our own wicks

Maybe I should pick up a shovel and try to mine some iron out of my back yard and smelt some mod tubes? ;) :p
