The experience I had was great. It was the fastest 12 hour clinical day ever and I would love to be in the NICU for the rest of my life. :]

NICU is sort of the opposite of Oncology or CICU... the situations may be just as desperate, but a success in NICU means a whole lifetime ahead while a success in Oncology means a holding action. OTOH, there's something that is somehow more tragic about watching a faltering start at life vs. the "last stand" at the end of one that was lived for many years prior to a final, hard-fought battle.

However, there's something deeply satisfying about the medical fields; it's "help" at the most basic and human of levels. It's the ultimate "tech support", if you will - with all the "instant gratification" that offers and then some.

Congrats, krnxguhj33, at taking on this hard and demanding career!!! :toast:

(But yes, BBS - I have long thought to put down my 2.5 year experience in the hospital in writing, and it's the only piece that comes with it's own title already made - and you have to understand the architecture of the hospital I was working at to understand how truly apt it is: "The Halls of Life and Death". Sounds melodramatic and pretentious at first blush, don't it?

Believe me, it's very, very literal.

Now just to DO IT and write the damn thing...)

Thank you for some of your wisdom in the medical field. :]

And as Zen~ says "Just vape it," I think you should "just write it." :p

Oh yea, what do you do? :D

Glad to see that everyone's doing well!!

I've been busy with OB and Peds rotations.

I was in the NICU yesterday and the babies are SOO CUUUTTEEEE!!

I think my heart's set in NICU.. :p
Be careful! I didn't think I wanted kids until that rotation! Lol. I did all mine at old San bernardino county and wanted to beat some of those mothers for having so many drug babies that ended up in NICU. Good luck!

My Peds rotation is in Antelope Valley and my Ob rotation is in St. Mary's so I know that the feeling of wanting to beat some mothers up. :nah:

But the desire to help them outweighs the anger I have and I really want them to live. They're so fragile and cute...

And a vapemeet sounds awesome Tierrataz. (especially with Korean BBQ involved.. ^_^;; )
