I spent several hours comparing various lubes and came to the conclusion that I don't care anymore.
#1 Some lubes are toxic (Moly), don't use them.
#2 Some lubes will destroy rubber orings if they are petro-based, silicone grease will swell a silicone oring, but I don't care because I don't plan on using it on my orings because it's not a flashlight.
#3 Some lubes will gunk and attract dirt, some will change color and stain, others have anti rust nitrates that increase wear potential on Ti See #1
#4 Some lubes are better on Aluminum, some are better for Titanium, most are fine on Stainless Steel.
#5 The better ones are overpriced and I question the veracity of the hyperbole surrounding how much better they are lacking any real empirical data to justify why the stuff sells for $25 a gram.
For me I will keep using ProGold because it's thin, doesn't attract dirt or grime, doesn't change color or stain, & I already bought another ProGold Pen for $1 ebay (I stole it in an auction) and I can't seem to rationalize why something more viscous would be ideal when you have to replace batteries frequently and you will likely get a gunked up mixture of dirt, metal particles, and debris that will likley be more problematic to deal with, clean, and maintain.
PS: I really need to get a life and/or get laid.
