The pic is not big enough to see clearly, but the coil looks very good. The wick looks like it is pinched shut on the top. Open that up and it will help. Also, bake between 2 and 3 o'clock position with the wick and air inlet pointed at the floor till it is wicking well enough to be able to hold it at a more normal angle.

The wick being pinched shut on top has very detrimental effects on wicking performance.

when she was telling everyone earlyer the wick was completely shut she swapped it over and it looked good then and then poor stormies battery's ran out so were hoping she will have some luck tomorrow with it

Sure you will, just takes time and practice. Before long you will get it and will never want to be without it. Everyone had some frustrations early on and some had very serious frustrations.

Trust me, when it clicks you Wil say to yourself "I can't believe how easy this really is!". You are not alone Stormie, many new Genisis users simply over-think and over-complicate things because it is a new experience and requires the learning of new skills. You will get this, I am sure of that!

I think this is what was causing my issue. I was having pretty much the same issue as she. I bet that's what it was.

Ok I filled it up. I gave it 3 days and it's been killing my throat and tasting burned and nasty. I got no flavor. It's not 5 days later and it's still the same way and still no flavor unless I drip on it. My throat can't take anymore. I have watched all the videos from Zen, I've followed the moving the coils directions till I got them exactly like his. I've tilted it every time I vape it to a 3 o'clock angle. I've tried pushing the button for a second then pulling on it and that's worse with burned and throat pain. So then I push the button after I put it in my mouth and same thing.

OK, so now I know it's a wicking issue. Try taking the wick out and making sure it is open on both ends and clear all the way through. Then hit it with a torch and get it glowing good and red.

While it is red, dunk it in cold water. I bet some black bits fly out of it. Do this till no more stuff falls from the wick when you dunk it.

Put a long pin, open paperclip or filling needle through the wick and insert it back into the Zenesis. Then wrap a new coil with the pin inserted. Pull the pin and sort out any shorts and tip it while firing till the juice starts to flow.

You should have a very nicely working Zenesis after doing this.

Ok the bottom is soaking wet it just won't light up.

That is fine, it's wet with juice. When it's working right, it will not light up like that unless it's dry. The ultimate goal is to have it wet enough that the coils are spewing steam and not glowing at all

I've had wayyyy too hectic of a day for a day off, what with vet trips, cat baths, and now a deeply traumatized and suspicious kitten. Seems the shampoo we used on them stripped off the familiar scents, and now Mouse refuses to believe that COPYRIGHTDMCA is in fact her "big sister" that she's lived with for two years. Mouse is now crouched in the "cave" of my desk's knee-hole, glaring out at Pebs and growling at her if she comes too close.

Oh, well - she's had a hard day; sleep is the Great Reset Button. I'm sure she'll figure it out by morning...

Sure, I'll post up a complete wick prep how-to. There are tons of ways to do it and my way is not the only way, but it works extremely well for me.

The top two coils are too loose. This will give burnt hits for sure. I would re-wrap it

I think we should consider adding this issue to the FAQ, or a troubleshooting thread in the group area for the newer folks. It seems this is most likely Stormie's issue, and it was definitely my issue as well. I'm sure that Zen sent me a perfectly working wick, but when I first got it and was bumping the wire to clear the shorts from shipping, I noticed the wick was wide open, and pinched it off, as I read somewhere that doing so can prevent flooding the cap. Keeping the wick at least partially open- if required, (as it seems to be) is not information that I uncovered anywhere as I was seeking answers to the muted flavor/ dry hits issues over the last week.

I really dont think they were loose. Think thsts the issue based on these?

Looks like you have a bit too much coil "tail" coming off the positive post. I'd clip that for sure.

Yeah - i clipped it down, its 1/8 inch now or less now and not gonna touch anything.

Well all you happy Zenfidels, Im off to get ready. Gotta go on a trip to the Phillippines for three LONG weeks. I was really hoping to take my Zen with me but cant cause it has'nt arrived yet. No worries though. My Mom will keep watch for it and let me know when it arrives safely. I'm hoping to be able to check in on the thread while im gone... Just imagine three weeks of this going on....HOLY VAPES........ Im likely never to catch up if I cant keep taps on this.....
