MissEmma, i experienced a version of your pain. i lived in south florida in 2005, we had 3 storms over a month and the electricity was out anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 months for everyone i knew. you reminded me how much a drink with ice means after days of no refrigerator, also remember enjoying a single coffee in the morning on a mini camping stove. i hope yours gets better soon.
I feel for you MissEmma and anyone else going through such an awful time. I hope things get back to normal for you soon and that you all stay safe.

I haven't had a refrigerator in over 6 years. We make due with the coleman igloos and clay pots set into buckets that are filled with ice cold water from the spring. A wet towel over the top keeps the veggies nice. Fruit gets ate faster than m&m's at our place, and we BBQ or solar cook all our meat. We eat nuts and fruits for lunch, instead of sandwiches, unless we're "starving" and then we get out the peanut butter and crushed ritz crackers. When we build our house, we'll build a Cob refrigerator (clay and straw with a screen) on the north (cold & shaded) side of the house with a door over the kitchen counter. Eventually we'll purchase a beautiful stainless steel refrigerator with AC/propane, but we're doing just fine without one for now. (except when I get to missing having a Marqurieta). There are lots of cool ways to refrigerate without refrigeration on youtube, and maybe one or more will work for you too? There's nothing like being tossed into a predictament, and this is quite a predictament you're in! I'll be praying for you.
