Came home and found a brand new zenesis mini awaiting me. I thought it hadn't shipped yet. Came with two baggies of wicks, Allen wrenches, and plenty of kanthal wire in a zipped semi hard case, with a pocket for the stuff, and a foam cut out for the mod.

Beautiful, heavy, solid construction with a perfect sheen. Nice button that's easy to thread back a couple of turns. tank is beautiful. Top cap is snug and mawn fit with a jiggle to give it a snug fit. Battery is so snug, I had to pull off masking tape label to slide it in.

Was set up ready to go with 4 wraps. I popped the battery in. Juiced the wick, burned it in a few times and then filled the tank with the needle tip. First few hits were light on vapor. Taste is strong and juicy. Draw is airy but the vapor amount with taste intensity is amazing. TH was great, especially for a 12 mg juice.

Overall amazing. Thanks Zen.

Zenesis day one report card

It seems that people are generally happy with their new PVs, and that makes me really happy...

Behind the scenes and somewhat in the thread a few concerns are popping up and I generally dislike hidden details that can be relevant to all concerned, so I am going to address them in public. It's better this way.

Concern number one... A few people are reporting minor finish flaws on their PVs.

What's happening: when the threads were cut in the bodies, the lathe collet seems to have left some lines in the tube and these were neither expected or acceptable in my opinion. I want the PV to look like it belongs in a jewelry store. I sorted through the tubes once these were discovered and removed the ones I discovered so I can get them refinished. It seems I missed at least a few, because so far I have been notified by two people that these minor lines are visible. It's possible there are more in the mail with this flaw.

What I'm doing about it: I have instructed the people with this issue to use the PV until I can send them a replacement next week. Once they have their new PV they can send the blemished unit back to be reworked.

Concern number two: The switch on the mini has a shorter throw and better feel than the standard.

What's happening: As I explained earlier, the ability to fire both batteries was an issue and I put together a solution that I hoped would solve the problem. As it turns out, this is proving to be an inelegant solution. It is not my desire to provide you with excuses and less than perfect execution of a flawed design, but I hoped I had this solved without causing further delays.

What Im doing about it:I've built a prototype already of a design that works much better, and when I am in Chicago for the vapefest I will meet with the shop to discuss the changes to the design of the switch button that will solve the issue entirely without it being a workaround. The throw will be a little longer than the mini... It needs to be... But the switch will have a slightly longer post removing the need for the spacer and a tighter fit to the sides of the threaded section to provide a better action. As soon as I have the parts in hand I will be providing a zero cost upgrade to all that need it. I expect the parts to be available in April assuming there are no production delays. PVs will continue to ship with the original design, and all parties involved will get the free upgrade.

Issue number three: the included wicks won't fit in the wick hole.

What's happening:The wicks included are larger than the hole. This is a function of the process of shipping the wicks soaked in solution... It causes the wicks to swell a bit and make them appear to not fit.

What im doing about it: I was planning on covering this issue in the wick and coil video I was planning on making. In this video I plan on showing the complete atty setup procedure using premade pre soakedm wicks. I hoped this was going to be done before shipping, but I want to get PVs done first. I will make the video this weekend.

Issue number four: Some drip tips don't fit.

What's happening: Drip tips are designed to fit 510, 808 and 901 atomizer tubes. In the design of the top cap, I measured a LOT of the cartos and attys on the market and I selected the hole size based on these measurement. This is a function of striking a balance. Many genesis attys such as the line have had the same issue because we are not connecting to an atty tube, we're connecting to a machined metal part that must have a hole drilled that is a standardized size. There is no exact drill size available that is the exact size of an average carto tube.

What im doing about it: any tips supplied by Kcos can be turned down to fit. If I enlarge the hole then many of the current drip tips will fit to loose.

So all in all if has been a fast paced day. Most people have sent PMs saying they are pleased... A few are not as pleased, but we will get to a solution soon.

As I've told these folks in PM, "if you're not happy, then I'm not happy."

Last but not least... My day was crazy, I was in and out of meetings all day... When I went to ship I missed the post office by 45' minutes. These will ship time with the batch that's going out tomorrow.

That's all I have to repot at the moment!

My sincerest apologies to you all!

zen,

time and time again, I am amazing at your responses to customer service issues.

you are one of the few people that I know (deal with) that tackles the issues head on, accepts responsibility and promises a solution which I have no doubt you will deliver. I am proud to be a part of the lucky group that gets to use your devices.

Thanks for the 1000th time. I really appreciate it.

edit. Karma said it all, and better. thanks for the great post karma!

I didn't mean for my posts to be negative. I love both my mods. I just wanted them to be informative based on some of the discussions and topics that have come up in the wait.

My first impressions are 10 out of 10 and I hope and believe they will continue to get better as I adjust to the wick and coil.

I am very much so pleased with these and would order another right now if i could. So if anyone is not happy with theirs pm me and I will buy it from you.

Thanks, I appreciate that.

We live in the real world where real problems happen... I can do my best to avoid them, but I can't dodge every bullet!

Problems ARE going to happen... That's part of life... How they get handled is what counts.

I give you guys complete transparency because it's what you deserve. There's no point in hiding in PMs when attacking the problem head on will provide comfort to more people.

I do not know how to say it any better than this.

your superior customer service, makes me want to provide superior customer service.

as you know I have a business where I have to deal with customer service issues all the time.

I think I do a very good job at dealing with those issues when they come up. I read your posts and it makes me want to be even better.

It is just good to know there are people out there who care this much.

As many of us know, we go through our daily lives dealing with plenty of people who do not care or provide good customer service. They often refuse to help until you get angry or request a superior. That is how many problems get handled out there in the world.

Dealing with you gives me hope.

sorry if I am babbling. I am SUPER tired.

I didn't think they were negative! If there is somebody lurking, wondering if anybody else has a similar problem as they are having, letting people know that we don't need to hide problems is a good thing!

I can admit I'm human and make mistakes. That's the cornerstone of humility and it opens the door to improvement.

My sincerest apologies to you all!

It's stuff like this that confirms to me that I made the right choice of pv AND vendor. Seriously, how many places where you shop would they step right up and tell you about the problems they're having and the steps they're taking to remedy those problems before almost anyone even knows about them? For me, the answer is, "not too damn many." In my opinion, getting out in front of a potential problem like this is good business and just plain smart. It's the kind of thing that gets passed on by word of mouth and builds customer loyalty. Good job.

Full disclosure here: I'm one of the people that got the (very slightly) marred body Zen~ mentioned above. When I pm'd him about it, his response was so fast and decisive, and he was so uncompromising in his unwillingness to allow me to be anything less than 100% satisfied that it took me about 20 minutes to compose my response because I was sort of stunned. I thought maybe I could return the mod to him or he could just send me a new body and I could swap everything over. He responded by saying that he'd do that if I really wanted but he'd prefer just to send me a new pv and then I could return the other one. And he did indeed write that "if I wasn't happy, he wasn't happy". What can you say to that kind of customer service? "It's perishingly rare", is one response. "Wow", is another.

Plus, I think he took it as a personal affront that an imperfect Zenesis had somehow escaped into the wild

Mike, I said it in the pm but I'll say it again here in public. I know you're running crazy right now getting everything built, tested, packed up, and shipped and the last thing you want is to deal with problems. Thanks so much for handling it this way. You're top shelf. And at this point, I recommend a dram or two of something off the top shelf ;)

What is TWSS?

If you put the battery in backwards and the kick at the bottom, your negative spring will be connected to Voltage Positive, because putting the battery in backwards will make the body of the PV +.

That will probably blow it up. In either case, it will not function.

I literally spit water out of my mouth and all over my desk when I read this!! Actually I'm lying it was beer
