Today is my 1 week anniversary with the Zenesis. Think it's time to clean the coil? Just today I started getting a light, but consistent burnt taste. Does a week seem too soon?

Freakin' love this thing! ♥♥♥

Yup I would say it's to short a period to need a cleaning. You may have bumped it or set it down hard and moved a coil just a bit and created a hot spot or a short. Take off your top cap and give it a dry burn, if you see a hot spot, just nudge and vape on. :)

I want to make one more off topic comment.

As many of you know, I am obviously a big supporter of Mike and his products. I know many think we are probably very close friends who chit-chat all the time on the phone. In fact there are others on this thread who have probably had much more contact than I have. I have a tendency to try to not bug him unless I have something major to discuss. I can say the first time we ever actually spoke was on CB's show a little while back. After that we had a conversation on the phone that was really great (and long. We both are talkers :))

I have had the pleasure of talking a couple of times in the last few days. As I said, I do not make a habit of calling as I know how busy he is. When we do talk, I always find it entertaining, enlightening and interesting. I would NEVER discuss on there what we discuss as I feel that what we talk about is between us. Most of it is not even stuff most of you would care about.

The point I want to make is this. Mike is a wonderful, caring, thoughtful and passionate man. I felt this from him before we even ever talked in person, but it is reinforced whenever I talk to him. I know people like to criticize him on this site and others for what they perceive to be faults (communication, shipping etc) I can tell you that I will defend him most of the time and other times I will just ignore the comments.

I am no longer going to do that. I think I understand this man better than ever after my last couple of conversations, and I can say with 100% confidence, that he is doing what he thinks is in the best interest of everyone and what is right. Is he perfect? No, but none of us are. At least he is trying and that is more than I can say for a lot of people. He gives more of himself than most people I know, and my respect for him is enormous.

I will no longer sit back and be silent while people who have no idea what he is going through bash him without having all the details. Call me a homer. I do not care any longer. Trust me, I own a lot of devices, from a lot of people that I think are making wonderful things. They might be wonderful people as well. I feel like I know this man now and I can tell you with certainly that he is a great person. You can take my word for it or not. I do not care. :)

it's on like donkey kong. :) (I just like saying that :))

Sorry to "out" you as a great person like this in a public forum. You might be annoyed that I am doing this. I do not care about that either. It needed to be said.

love, the ob.

Mike is an absolute freakin champ of a human being. I consider myself fortunate to have met the man, and I stand behind you in everything you said ob. Not many care for the well being of the vaping community as a whole, as Mike does. That is very honorable. I value honor above all when it comes to people. Everything else means nothing.

Can you clarify "hot spot" a bit for me? I keep hearing the term, and want to know just what I'm looking for. I have dry burned it before. The top coil always glows before the rest, then one by one, the rest will glow. Is that a hot spot?

Also, the wick and coils don't seem to have moved at all.

Once you get all coils glowing at the same time, when you pulse fire, if a coil glows noticeably hotter/brighter than the others then that is a hot spot, just nudge it a bit (the top should be nudge up if too tight and down it too loose). Keeping in mind that if you have a good amt of juice in your tank, the bottom coil may never glow as bright at the rest as it is staying a bit wet.

give us a picture. it's probably too tight or too loose
Can someone lend me some assistance, rolled my 1st wick, working great, wrapped my 1st coil and it looks great but only 1/2 a coil is firing?
Anyone, any help or suggestions would be much appreciated

Just got this today and I just had to post a pic. I was totally wow'd by this thing. Absolutely beautiful. Now to figure out where I plan on setting this bad boy. I need to clean tomorrow so my end table has less clutter, then it's new home will be established.

Gorgeous! Mine should be waiting for me at the post office when I get home!
