I have a question on the coil that was wrapped when I received my Zap. The kanthal going from the negative to the wick, should this glow when its operational? In other words, the coil, when juice is flowing does not glow, understandable, the little bit of wire from the post to the wick does glow. It vapes fine, from what I can tell, just curious if I need to make any kind of adjustment.

Everybody is to busy gearing up for vapercon. That and 600 some zen attys have hit the streets in the past month, so nobody's coming on here stalking zens.

Good morning. Yep, I'm one of the 600. Got my ZAP last week from the Provape sale. I surely don't have to tell you folk, it's a 'wonderous' atty. Not new to rebuilding, but obviously new to the Z-atty. Any recommendations for required reading for a 1st time user would be appreciated.

Wow 90 day notice thats crazy!

Tapawhat?

Isn't it though? I'm a "provider" at a VA hospital, so if I call off, all of my patients have to be rescheduled. Right now, if you call for an appointment with me...you're looking at an appointment in January...very busy, we are.

welcome Mike. There is a whole social forum. Look at the pics and vids thread for a coil basics written by Zen. There is also a f.a.q thread. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/groups/zenation-home-zenfidels.html

Wouldn't a short imply it would not work at all? This is kind of a hot spot but there is no way to get it any closer to the wick since it is the short distance from the negative post to the wick. My understanding is when a coil is dry, you fire the coil and if it does not glow evenly, you adjust it so all the wraps glow as one. This happens normally right now. I just have noticed when juice is flowing and it is in normal operation the wire from the negative post to the wick glows since it does not have any juice on it. I just wanted to know if this was normal as it seems logically it would, I just wasn't sure.

Hot spots are caused by a small short. I agree with dearme. Move the bottom coil up or down a touch while firing to see if it goes away. No, I would say it is not normal. The wire from the wick to my negative post does not glow. Juice or no juice

i also agree, could mean the coils is not up against the wick somewhere towards the bottom causing that spot to glow there if i am correct... i had the same issue when i first got my zen and after playing with the bottom coils it went away

Only a major short or multiple shorts will give a metallic taste. Small shorts will not affect the working of the PV. Most small shorts will eventually fix themselves thru oxidation from vaping. If you don't have a metallic taste, you could just leave it, but the glowing wire might eventually pop your coil.

K-man, the Nitecore i4 charger has had good feedback over here. It has 4 bays with spring loaded contacts and imo is good value for just over $20.
Thanks! Checking it out now.

She'll be back; taking care of home and personal stuff at the moment.
I hope she's well.

Good morning everyone. Holy crap I hate Mondays. I just can not get with it.

On the plus side, I only have to get through 6 more days of work (not counting today) before leaving for VC, woot!
I'm with ya hating Mondays.

Good morning all :) Someone please tell me that I didn't screw up my Vapercon hotel reservation! I just googled the hotel so that I could call just to confirm my reservation, only to discover that there are TWO Comfort Inns on West Broad St.....200 and 3200 West Broad. Which is the right one?
