I'd like to bring up Grammie's question again concerning wick size? Gosh, over 200 posts have been made since she asked it and only 2 replies. Yikes! Surely some of you other experienced folks could share info re: wick sizes for the Zen~ atties. I'm not asking about fat wicks w/o the insulator - so please don't go there, or how to roll it or oxidize, plenty of info out there in general on that. I'm more looking for what sizes worked / didn't work for you. Thanks.

Evening Zenfidels!

I hate to disrupt your day, but now is the time for the newbie to Zen rba questions!

How long can wicks pre-made/oxidized be stored?

Do you use pg or vg on them when storing?

What size (mm) do you cut from the mesh for your wicks? Fat & Skinny wicks?

Hum, I think that covers it for now!

Hope everyone is having a good relaxing day today!

Hi Grammie!

They can be stored indefinitely, I would assume.

I vape 70/30 PG/VG, so I store my wicks in PG, but you can use either.

I cut skinny wick mesh 15mm X 50mm. After it's rolled and the coil wrapped, the wick needs to be trimmed shorter than 50mm though.

I haven't cut any mesh for fat wicks - someone else will need to answer that one.

i can't answer the question on fat wicks either......i no longer measure. i just cut, torch, roll, and torch...if it's too much i trim a bit..
and as far as storing them....i just make a new one every 2-5 months now. current wick is 4 months old now and still trucking! over 2k ml strong! lol....so i know nothing of storing...prolly indefinately in pg. vg i would be more skeptical of though since it is a bacterial growth medium

I can't give you an exact number, but if you take three of the pre made wicks, and put them together, tightly rolled, they will still fit in the insulator. They wick like a beast then.

Don't want any suggestions on any no insulator setups? How about you change insulator material to accommodate a thicker wick?

I use the fire proof fabric that is wrapped around the coils of a dual coil carto :)

Evening ZENfits  is this OK KMan? I received my white o-rings today along with my 400x400 mesh seen a ton of youtube vids on making a wick, any suggestions?

Tight tight tight :)

No need to over torch the thing either. Just get it glowing a couple of times, then burn some juice on the wick.

Well, I'm not much help. I just continue to use Zen's wicks, and I have never unrolled one to measure it. I have trimmed them a little if I can't get it in the wick hole, or, if after much use, it gets raggedy on the edge. If that happens, before rolling a new coil, I unroll the wick a little and trim it up. Since I also flip wicks instead of putting in a new one, I have enough wicks to last a couple of years........

Fit snug or just till it drops in? I was going to do that unroll one but was going to cut for double the normal size and roll it up
Start by unrolling one of the pre made wicks, and triple the length. I have never measured my wicks. I would just roll and roll until it would fit.

Mine are similar.
If I don't use the pre-rolled, I just cut a rectangle and start rolling it up.
If it's way too fat, I trim some off, and roll until it's small enough to fit in the hole I'm aiming for.

LOL
I swear everything vape related just sounds so wrong.

I believe I have seen a measurement listed of 10mm x 30mm, but can't swear to that or which device it was for.
And I don't mean this in a nasty way, but does anyone actually measure their mesh, or just wing it when cutting?

After cutting a few times, I just kind of eye-ball it.

I hope everyone makes it to Chicago. That is the one I really want to go to. Shai, your juice needs to be mailed at post office, so it might be a couple days until i send it but will let you know. I need to send a drip tip for repair so might be sooner rather than later (hopefully).

Oh and I have only used Zen's wicks. Getting a couple more devices as soon as he can send em and will have more wicks. I went through a few when I was new to the zenesis experience. To think I was thinking of parting with my mini . Now I have a tini, mini and couple atty's. I am only buying Zen for the most part from here on out.
