I have read to tighten the screw by hand with a screwdriver. That should solve the unscrewing issue. also, there are new switches coming.

If I tighten the screw, it won't fire. ;)

also sand down the screw head and battery ends to remove oxidation

Thanks nin! Not sure why I didn't think of that.

well I saw the new switch and mike offered one to me for my mini if I wanted one, but I think for the mini the one that came with it is the better choice. I can see why the standard switch needs to be changed out. With the mini it's shorter so it doesn't wobble at all so the new switch isn't needed . The profile on the mini switch is smaller than the new switch so I like it better. I'm telling you if it isn't broke don't change it out. OH buy the way have I told you lately that
I LOVE MY MINI !!! LOL

I've had problems with the switch binding and inconsistent contact if I tighten the screw enough to make it stable. Loosening it enough to consistently fire, and not bind, makes it work itself loose as you use it, unstable when standing on end, and it will sometimes fire when on end, unless you unscrew the end cap a couple of turns. Been trying to find a sweet spot with the screw, but no luck yet.

I wonder, and zen will have to chime in if getting the switch screw where you want it, and using some loctite on it could be a solution?

The screw is the electrical connection. Using loctite to hold it in place will hamper conductivity to at least some extent. I would definitely not do that because if it does completely interfere with conductivity it will not be easy to remove the loctite and restore function to the PV.

That's my :2c: anyway :)

My switch kept unscrewing and not connecting the first day I got it. What I ended up doing is tightening the screw as tight as it would tighten, took an emery board to the screw head and battery and then used a dab of Noalox (thanks you, ob for the suggestion!) on the screw head. Works like a charm now. The screw will occasionally loosen, but not often. I use a 2000 mAh AW IMR battery. If you use the 1600, you may need a magnet spacer.

Try to slightly booger the threads. Take a fork from the kitchen or something and run it lightly over the threads no so much that its screwed, up but enough that it is tight when you screw it in. Also I would recommend that you have an Xtra screw in case you screw it up. harware store should have some. get 3-4.

That's exactly my problem; stated a bit more eloquently. :D

*ahem* Puhleeeze do NOT use your wife's forks from the kitchen to mess up your Zenesis screws. What about some tool in the tool chest? That could work! ;)
