Got my mini...yeeeeaaaaahhh!!! Zenesis Mini # 0092 arrived home today!!!!!!
Thanks Zen!!! I just gotta say this APV is amazing!! I got it working really fast and easily. Now vaping for about an hour, wick seems good and broken in now...good flavor...massive vapor. I switched to one of the 325 wicks as I'm vaping bobas bounty 100% VG. Wrapping the coil and searching out the shorts was a little easier, as I've had about 2 weeks practice with "other hybrid" (katana). I got this up and going a lot faster. I really like the smooth button/switch.
The only bad thing...is that the mail man must've been really rough with my package

The wick in my mini is the one Zen put in, haven't changed it but I've rebuilt my coil a couple of times. (I'm a February baby, yeah I was born in February too.)
To echo what has been said, 5 coils! My sweet spot for vaping has always been LR, and thought 4 coils was me but I was wrong, too harsh! Five coils is still warm but OMGosh, the flavor is so good and the hit is smooth.
Don't know how many of ya'll or your wives, sisters, mothers, crochet or knit, but I use that as my base for coil wrapping. Hang in there, I haven't lost my mind nor am I knitting my coils.
When you knit, crochet or even sew a stitch, you have to have enough tension on the yarn or thread to make a stitch. Too much and it's loose and won't work, too tight and it won't give. You also have to make each stitch the same size and distance apart.
Or for guys that work on their cars, mowers, or anything else with a belt and pulley. You know about the correct tension on those. Put your belt on the pulleys, too loose and it's not going to work. If you put it on and it's tight.....get what I'm trying to say here. If it's rubbing or too close or too far apart, the deck on your mower is not going to function right or for very long.
Just wanted to quote this so some of it can be included in the FAQ.
A lot of people seem to be taking one drag on the thing when it arrives then dumping a perfectly good wick and coil if it's not perfect right off the bat. It makes a LOT more sense to try and get the wick and coil that was definitely working before shipping up and running than add a whole bunch more variables by starting over.
It might be worth including a printed copy of the FAQ or a link to a PDF with future shipped devices too Zen~, if it's not too much trouble or expense, it might eliminate a few of the more common issues if people can read it first.
Ahhhhhh, I see then. A skewer will do the job just fine. The problem is likely that the coil is breaking through the oxidation (maybe a slight fray on the mesh that the coil is sitting on. This can cause shorts to re-appear over and over and cause a really long break-in. No worries though, this can be fixed without tearing it all down. Try doing this...
Put a fresh battery in so the coil can get good and hot.
Put a couple drops on the wick, fire and fix shorts. Once the shorts are taken out, wet the wick again with a couple more drops.
Fire the coil and keep the button pressed. When the juice starts to dry off, look for shorts. If there are any correct them too. Add another drop or 2 of juice and continue. Once the coils can stay "lit" for a a good 10 seconds with the mesh dried up and not re-short then tip it over. You should still be firing the coil at this point
Tip it over with the coil still firing (about 45 degrees or steeper) and watch. Within a minute, you should see that the coils start going out. This is what you want. Keep going till all the coils go out from being saturated with juice.
Once that is done, stop firing the coil and tip it back upright. Replace the cap and give her a vape. Your Zenesis should be smooth, flavorful and making gobs of vapor now.
I do this with all of my Genisis mods and it works 100% of the time. Typically I have a good working atty within 5 minutes of wrapping a fresh coil or replacing a wick.
Once you have successfully done this once you will be able to do it over and over again and not have to wait through the pesky break-in period before you get to world-class vaping for more than a handful of puffs

Some people forget that all the science, measurement and enginering has been done to give them a rebuildable atty that is simple to use and setup. Approach it as an easy task and it will be an easy task.
Remember, this is a ZEN-esis. Take a deep breath, follow Zen~'s instructions and enjoy a nice vape
If working in customer support taught me anything it's that when it comes to instructional info, throw as much as possible at the user, then throw some more.
The more sources of info the better chance people will actually read it.
