The only blue county in Texas!
Pulse the switch on and off. Run the syringe up and down the coil, get them all lighting, release switch, turn back on, see if they all fire together...if not, rinse and repeat. Keep doing that until they all glow together. Pulsing the switch will help.

From what I have read, it takes a lot to pop a kanthal coil, but the pros will chime in. I'm no pro, that's for sure!

I haven't popped one yet and I fiddled with it a lot until it started working right.

When you say rinse and repeat... do you mean literally (by putting more juice on the coil) or figuratively?

Then you will be appalled to know I actually mixed that last year on April Fools Day...

Ruined a bunch of cartos for my nearest and dearest friends... It tasted exactly like vomiting up a tuna fish sandwich...

EXACTLY!

that would make a GREAT vape bash joke hahaha...

Figuratively. Fire the coil, poke at it until they all glow, release the switch, turn it back on, see if they all light at the same time, if not poke at them until they do. Release switch....rinse and repeat. :)

To reiterate what someone pointed out a few pages back, Zen~ really knocks it out of the park with the "kit."

Not only a case, not only wrenches, not only a syringe, not only extra oxidized wicks (of two types!) and wire, but also with coil and wick all set up and ready to go. Thanks Zen~! Truly spectacular!

Beautiful looks too. It is truly flawless in construction.

I'm still breaking in my standard. I'm so wary of dry hits (there should be a more emphatic warning regarding these!!!) that I spent last night burning quite a bit of juice without even vaping it. The good news is that my house smelled great!!! Tonight I've been vaping on it and really enjoying it.

I have run into one very small hiccup. Changing the magnets in the switch for an easier throw, one of the small magnets got stuck in the base of the switch and I can't press it down further or get it out... Still vapes fine, but one day I might want to get that out of there....

Well, mine isn't wicking yet - I have to hold it upside down to get any juice up there so maybe I still need to put some drops on the wick.

Here's what lorderos posted yesterday. Maybe it will help you:

Ahhhhhh, I see then. A skewer will do the job just fine. The problem is likely that the coil is breaking through the oxidation (maybe a slight fray on the mesh that the coil is sitting on. This can cause shorts to re-appear over and over and cause a really long break-in. No worries though, this can be fixed without tearing it all down. Try doing this...

Put a fresh battery in so the coil can get good and hot.

Put a couple drops on the wick, fire and fix shorts. Once the shorts are taken out, wet the wick again with a couple more drops.

Fire the coil and keep the button pressed. When the juice starts to dry off, look for shorts. If there are any correct them too. Add another drop or 2 of juice and continue. Once the coils can stay "lit" for a a good 10 seconds with the mesh dried up and not re-short then tip it over. You should still be firing the coil at this point

Tip it over with the coil still firing (about 45 degrees or steeper) and watch. Within a minute, you should see that the coils start going out. This is what you want. Keep going till all the coils go out from being saturated with juice.

Once that is done, stop firing the coil and tip it back upright. Replace the cap and give her a vape. Your Zenesis should be smooth, flavorful and making gobs of vapor now.

I do this with all of my Genisis mods and it works 100% of the time. Typically I have a good working atty within 5 minutes of wrapping a fresh coil or replacing a wick.

Once you have successfully done this once you will be able to do it over and over again and not have to wait through the pesky break-in period before you get to world-class vaping for more than a handful of puffs

He was going to be offering those APVs up for sale if payment wasn't received by Wednesday...yesterday. PM him. Maybe yours got lost in the email? Or you are in the next 53 he's still waiting on parts for?

Thanks :)

Done.

Are yous getting notices here by PM, or to your Emails?

Part of my problem is I just need to learn to identify and fix shorts. So, from what I can gather, you just poke at the shorts until they go away? What causes a short? Maybe if I understood it better, I could fix it better. And... a short is just a spot in the wire that isn't heating properly?

Ok, so I'm back from work on what was supposed to be a day off, a round of golf, and some beers..... Luckily I was able to get all the shirts mailed out before I got the code red call...You should have them in about 3 days....depends how tired the dogsled team is for you Murdock..lol

Can't wait to get on the plane to Chicago in the am.... I'm gonna be looking for zen as soon as I land, to get my standard up and running...my flight gets in really early, so if they dont have my room ready, I may find myself sitting in the lobby playing "stalk the mailman"

ok.

so I have read every fix there is. I also want to preface this by saying that i am neither frustrated (well maybe a little) or planning on giving up BUT.....

No matter what I try to do, I cannot get all the coils to fire at once. I have wrapped and re-wrapped (I know you do not want me to do this) and just cannot seem to get them all glowing at the same time. I have poked and prodded.

One of the main issues seems to be the very bottom coil. I get it wrapped around the wick well, but when the second coils gets wrapped around, It seems to lift the bottom one a little. I have tried holding it in place among other things, but just cannot get it right for some reason.

that is all for now......
