You are a class act, and please accept my apology for my words as well. :) Hope you really do find your trade, get what you like and is right for you. I really mean that! :) But if you don't (and again, I hope you do) I'll buy the standard from you. :)
First thing - the 'for sale' price I put in there at $325 was NOT serious (I was half lit at the time) - all I really want is an Ody+expansion, nothing else, which is a very fair trade. In fact, I'll be losing money on the deal.

I meant no offense to Zen or his awesomely engineered device. The Zenesis is a beautiful device, very well thought out and designed - it's just not for me. Even if I could get it to vape right (which I can't), there are two other issues that would make me give it up anyway: I simply can't use the bottom button - too painful for me (previously dislocated pinkies, carpel tunnel), AND the top cap being held on by only an o-ring - this is just not secure enough for the way I carry my PVs.

I do appreciate, and followed, all of the advice I got in this thread. It is very appreciated, apparently I just couldn't 'get it'. I just finally got so frustrated last night I put it up for trade 'cause my wife wants an Ody for her Stealth. The Ody just works for me. Perfect vapor and flavor every single time. Yes, it takes me awhile longer to build a coil than it does with the Zenesis, but I've got it down to a science and it satisfies me every time.

I most certainly did not mean to 'spit in the face of this community', and to all I've offended, I am sincerely sorry!

If you look at my other classified sales, you'll see I always sell for a fair price and will do so IF I decide to sell the Zenesis. I've removed the 'for sale' price on my listing and will start a new thread with the PV priced at retail if I decide to sell.

Thanks again for all the help the Zenfidels offered me, and don't think I won't be one of the first in line when Zen re-designs this thing!

P.S. Zen~ I'm assuming you will still be sending my updated button as soon as they are ready no matter if I trade my Zenesis or not, true? If I can't find a satisfactory trade, does your offer to return to you for a refund still stand?

Then you're not being fair to the people who have purchased at that level and are in fact devaluing their mods, would you sell a Shelby at the 1960's list price? This is a .com here, it is for commercial purposes and I think it hypocritical not to respect the law of supply & demand, especially on a country founded on that principle.......:2c:

oh give me a break ripple, yes I am being fair....they've had plenty of use, AND nothing is worth more than fair market value, including a Shelby. thats like comparing an over-ripe banana to a ready to eat watermelon...there's a HUGE difference between a work of art and function, and something that is only a shiny piece of bling that ISNT very good at form and function..... after having mine for a few months of fiddling and playing with them, I'm not impressed anymore. I wont get into the reasons why, this thread is NOT the place for it. rare or not. I did not pay one red cent more than what they were brand new, not even close, and will sell them appropriately...there's a huge difference between price gouging and true market value. THAT IS a huge difference. yes there are a few collectors of these 'mods', BUT, there are a ton of peeps that don't keep them for very long also, because they don't like them for one reason or another. just because something is all bling bling and rare doesnt make it WORTh the price...if the engineering and functionality doesnt also follow suit, then its just a lemon, a 3 cylinder YUGO with a Shelby body :p .....that is MY opinion, and everyone is entitled to having their own...

I know there have been a few already, but please,no pm's for the trade or sale of my items, everything is pending 'other' deals (except my 'one' ggts which I havent decided on yet) in the works as I've already promised them to others if they were to be sold or traded... if the deals fall through, then and only then, they will get posted in the classifieds...

thanks for your thoughtful response yeti.

I wrote before that I was respectful of the change to the ad and have even more respect for you after this response. I know it was probably difficult to come in here and explain and I think it takes a strong person to do that. I always will have an appreciation for people who are willing to admit when they are wrong or have made a mistake.

I hope you find what you are looking for, and have a chance to find happiness with one of Zen's devices in the future. :)

Absolutely...

Your warranty is transferable, all upgrades go to the new owner, and I think it's great that you stopped by for an explanation... there were a lot of people here pulling for you and trying to help, and I think we may have been a little too sensitive about it... but that's the cool thing about this community... we're here for each other.

.

Thanks Zen~! So, if I trade, you will send the new button directly to the new owner? That is just awesome.

I've already got a few in line to buy if I can't find my trade, so if anyone here wants to get in line, head over to my classy ad! :)

Advice:

If I decide to sell, should I take the first person offering to buy from my current ad - OR should I start a new ad and take the first person from that ad??

I think, to be fair, I should start with the people who have already offered to buy, but don't want to step on any toes. ;)

As much as it kills me to agree, (because I just replied on your add and probably the 20th in line) do what you think is fair!

screen wallpaper anyone?

ZENDRAGON_WALLPAPER_LOW.jpg

Nice render also, xxxrimxxx :D I guess I'm not the only 3d modeler here.

Out of curiosity, did you use a displacement map on the knurling at the bottom of the Zenesis? I ended up modeling it straight through a series of patterns. It worked out, but it's not a knobby as I would have liked. For some reason, with it unsmoothed, it caught no lights or shadows, even during the ambient occlusion pass. I had to smooth it to make it catch shadows, which gave it a soft round appearance as seen below;

It's hard to see cause the site makes the link tiny. I'll render out a close-up of the knurling when I get out of class at 5 tonight.

hey bewsii, thanks mate, nah i just do 3D during free time nowadays, youre the 3D guy in around here you can bet on that..

yes the knurling part is displacement nothing more.. i know exactly what you mean by faces behaving strangely sometimes.
probably something to do with render settings as opposed to the geometry itself.

aside from the occasional moire effect on your final renders, i find that a lot of times a simple displacement or bump map does the job, well, for me anyway.

*apologies all for the off topic*
