Now, the desert eagle would do some damage for sure, but I bet my ar-15 chambered in .300 blackout would turn it to schrapnel in one shot. Of course that would be sacrilege though so we won't be testing that.

It broke somewhere, I am 100% certain of this. What you described was a short followed by a popped coil. Time to make a new coil, but not to worry. You should be able to get a new on on there in just a few minutes.

o.k. tried silica wick inside stainless mesh. Take my advice it doesn't work. Thinking about a tube made of carbon or something aprox. the size of the hole maybe porous hard porcline tube that's hard like a rock but tubular and stiff like charcoal or something. very absorbent ya know what i mean
