So I want to reflect on a few things here, and maybe vent just a little...

Lately I've been taking heat for some things that I feel are out of line, and I want to set the record straight.

1) Communications...

On a slow day, I get 250 PMs and 150-200 emails asking "How do I buy"... or "Put me on the list"... Sometimes they say "I'm on the list".

People need to realize that I can't answer just shy of 500 PMs and emails per day.

I will rephrase that... NOBODY can answer that many communications per day.

When the lists were open, I responded to as many as I could, but I couldn't do all of them...

I told people in the thread I couldn't... and I put a message on the FRONT PAGE OF THE SITE that I would not be answering PMS... when lists closed, I posted it here and on the site.

Well, the lists closed and the PMs and eMails kept pouring in. I responded to as many as I could... but that was probably 15% of the requests.

Personally, I feel I communicated pretty well what was happening.

Fast forward to today... At Vapor Wall, I was pretty viciously attacked about it. And for the last few days I've been under scrutiny in PMs about it.

I guess what I want to say is I'm sorry. I thought that by posting my wishes to not be PMed about lists because they were closed, along with the BOLD statement on the FRONT PAGE of the site would have been enough to clue people in that simply sending me an email requesting to be on a list that was already closed would have been enough to curtail them from doing it.

I'm not sure what more I could have done. But whatever I missed, I apologize for not doing it.

I know it is disappointing to think you were on a list for months only to find out you were not... But I didn't give you any reason to think you were on the list. In fact, I clearly told people when the lists were closing, in advance of them closing, and I closed them in public... it wasn't a secret that they were closed.

But people are angry... really really angry.

But let me ask you all something...

Do you know how many people tried to bribe me to ship their March PV in February?

Do you know how many times people tried to sneak onto the lists by sending me copies of PM's that never existed in the first place?

Do you know how many women offered me certain favors if I would bring a PV to VapeBash or the upcoming VapeStock... circumventing the list?

I have seen the lowest form of human behavior... over a PV.

People have BEGGED and PLEADED.

Then the whole serial number fiasco came up as well.

Now I'm going to tell some of you how I feel about you... and this applies to very few people... and most certainly not the regulars in this thread.

I'll start by saying 95% of the vapers I have met are amongst the nicest, kindest, thoughtful people I have ever met. Every regular in this thread I consider to be a friend... a DEAR friend at that. I would bend over BACKWARDS for any one of you.

But 5% of the vapers I have encountered are VILE and DISGUSTING people that I have grown to despise. They are selfish, cruel and despicable.

These 5% represent the lowest level of society, and they behave in a manor that is so reprehensible that I wish I could block their IP addresses from my site, never to hear from them again.

They behave in a fashion that make animals appear to be civilized. They are Angry, Broken people.

And yet I feel compassion for them. I wish I could help them see that they are seething with anger, and that they should learn how to purge themselves of that poison. That they should open their eyes and have a hard look at how others see them.

When a comedian gets on stage and he thinks he's funny... it doesn't matter... if the audience doesn't think he's funny, he's not funny. His perception of his comedic value is meaningless if the audience doesn't feel the same way.

I think I communicated well... most people got it, understood it, and rolled with it. But it doesn't matter what I think!

A portion of the audience didn't see the bold notice on the front of the site. They didn't see my plea to NOT send me requests via PM or any other method. They didn't SEE that the lists were closed ON EVERY PRODUCT PAGE OF THE SITE.

To these folks, I have failed and they wish to punish me.

If it makes them feel better, I can take it, I guess.

But I would much rather say, have a good life... I hope you get your demons under control, and I wish you the very best. I have a lot of PVs to sell soon, but I can't be all things for all people... best case scenario, I'll try my best to get this right.

This is why I did away with "verbal commitment" lists and changed to open purchasing for the stock stuff, and pre-paid or deposit lists for the special stuff. This way there is no question... if ya paid your admission price, you get to see the show. If ya didn't, sorry, you missed out.

There's nothing more I can say or do that will help.

If you think you were on a list, and you have proof of it... You get what has been promised... if you didn't get on a list, the same outcome applies... I promised you nothing and nothing is what you shall receive.

I just want to make some great PVs and sell them to nice people that will appreciate them, without 5% of the people behaving like spoiled children.

Is that too much to ask?
Don't let the basterdards get you down! For a one man band you are playing fine music Zen, step back and take a break for a few days and clear your head. All the best to you!:toast::vapor:

Zen~, you're amazing. I feel so bad that I PMed you in the past now.. TT_TT

I'm so sorry!!!

You've made my vaping experience second to none. The ease of using the Zenesis is amazing. I've never really felt passionate about vaping until I had one in my hands and now.. All I can think about is the next APV that you're making. If my girlfriend wouldn't kill me, I'd buy that Zenesis Diamond.. even if it means eating ramen, spam, and rice for the next 7-8 months just so I can have it.

For what it's worth, coming from me, you're amazing and your products reflect a bit of yourself that the 5% of naysayers will never understand.

ZEN~ FOR PRESIDENT!!!

(p.s. is it okay for me to call you Mike or do you prefer Zen~?)

And Ob, just grounded me...

I needed that.

I'm going to share a thought now about why this upset me the way it did.

I don't know the serial numbers of my 3 GGs... I've seen them... I don't know them. Mine are higher than some, and lower than others.

They are very nice PVs.

I have other PVs with serial numbers... I think... but I don't know the numbers.

I place NO value on the specific numbers. I don't give them even the slightest consideration.

I truly don't care what they are.

I own several wonderful limited edition works by Hiashi Otsuka Hisashi Otsuka

I don't know the edition numbers... they are higher than some and lower than others.

They inspire me when I look at them... I don't see the numbers.

The Serial Number on the Zenesis is not emblazoned out in the open... it was never intended to create competition of value. It's an identifying mark... it was never intended to add or lower value. It's the true name of the PV... "This one is 0024", and "that one is 0101"...

They are not designed to create a hierarchy.

They are not designed to provide bragging rights.

And even though, for the most part and with very few exceptions, they were made in linear order, this isn't supposed to be anything more than a simple identifying mark.

I never intended for there to be status associated with the serial number.

I don't care about them, but having an identifying mark is good... when 6 people are vaping together and they all have their identival PVs on the table... it's good to be able to Identify yours.

That's the whole Idea.

I don't like the competition that it has caused, or the ill feelings. (Both mine, and others)

I don't like the accusation that I somehow ruined the value of the PV buy doing the right thing earlier on, and shipping them out of order instead of halting production... that would have been a little silly. Like I said... the numbers mean nothing to me... and I truly wish they could mean nothing to anybody that owns one. Value was never the intent.

I'm actually considering dropping the numbers and calling it an "open edition" with no serial numbers at all.

The problem with THAT is that it would once again raise the importance of the numbers and people with numbers will hold a higher status than those without. The competition continues.

But I especially didn't like the ugly feeling of true disdain that came from Cardsligers post. It was seething with anger, disappointment and contempt. Some would call it a cheap shot... I won't judge it that way... I see it as misdirected energy.

His further justification of "bragging rights" pushed me deeper into my ire!

Are we to assume that people should position themselves in here based on their serial number?

I would far rather see somebody brag that they own a Zenesis than Brag that they have a low serial number... which by the way... these are ALL low serials that have been shipped...

It's just not in my nature to see the value in a low serial number! I do know others will disagree, but It isn't my intent to entertain that.

But Obs post tugged at me... Calmed me down... reminded me of the Japanese garden in my own back yard, which has yet to be brought into spring condition.

My favorite Lotus has no serial number... But the beauty is astounding...

The sound of the frogs that make this place their home by depostitng 25 billion eggs each year... and croak through the night... they have no serial numbers either. And they enrich my life in a way that NO PV can ever do.

I value these things far above any PV I own... Far above any possession... far and away beyond any physical thing...

Peacefulness... Mindfulness... calmness... Joy...

No serial numbers on this stuff... and that raises the value.

My friends with gardens don't call me and brag that their water lilies are in bloom before mine... They don't compare how many Water Hyacinths have blossomed... or that they got theirs before me.

Serial numbers brought out the ugly side of man... the competitiveness... the braggadocio... one-upsmanship.

I wish I never put serials on them.... but the damage is done... to take them off, well... they makes things uglier... counter to my goal... To continue to use them, well... it fuels the fire!

So... I think the best course of action is to continue... and I will make it well known that these will ship in absolutely random order (within their production runs)

I simply cannot have the number on the PV give an advantage to one person over an other and I refuse to classify people by their timeliness in purchasing a PV.

It would be a slap in the face of everybody involved to create a hierarchy based on who got here first.

We are ALL the same... One Zenfidel is equally as significant as another... Your serial number doesn't define you... and it will not be allowed to.

And I don't ever wish to see this kind of ugliness surrounding this issue again.

I feel like a rock was thrown in my head.

And it's bleeding.

Sorry to hear about all the frustrations Zen, but I dont think you need to get upset about it at all. Look at it this way: The Zenesis has in a very short time become known as one of the best PVs out there. Time and again I have (and a lot of others have) answered with "Zenesis" to people asking the question whats the best all round PV out there. You didnt have to go out and market the Zenesis, the product and its design did it for you. The only other Mods that have reached such levels of fame have taken much longer to get there. Now there are a whole bunch of people that want it and only a few to go around as you are starting off with the pains of distribution and ecommerce. A lot of new comers dont get the entire modalities of custom build APVs. They expect to buy one the way they might have bought their first Ego or the likes. And when they cant get it, might rant away at you. I think you need to look at the bigger picture when they do. I think it means that you product is way more successful than what you initially planned for! So cheer up :) Most of us here understand your time limitations and wait patently for you to churn out more APVs (Just like I am patently waiting for my tanks without troubling you much ;)).

To the rest of the Zenfidels, whats the ETA of the ZAP for people who have not reseved one before? Has there been any mention of New ZAPs being available anytime soon? Damn the ZAP looks awesome on a Provari! I dont have one, but would get one for the ZAP!

I admit I was a punk till I took a look around. My first post here was off. All I had to do was shut up and let people help me find the information. Sure I could have found it easy but from my point of view, I was lazy and wanted the best then, and only then. You guys rub off on people and no doubt Mike, you have rubbed off on all of us. You did something them people could never do. So suck it up big Mike. Once people learn how to read and ask questions, they just might turn around too.

I am a better person since I joined ECF. Can u imagine all the ...... off people that quit smoking? Its the great people you where talking about that have such a wonderful attitude that helped me tremendously. Thank you all for that. No matter if you where a jerk once. I was too and I get it now. I speak for everyone here when I say that we are hear for you Mike. But I bet you already know that or you would not share so much of yourself with us. Point is people will catch on and whatever you need to vent to keep doing what you do its cool with all of us.

My dad once said that around the age of 30 I would stop being such a douche. He stuck by me and you know what. He wasn't kidding. I guess we can just call you the vaper dad.

Isn't it funny by about the time you're 25 you realize that your dad isn't a dumbass, he knew what he was talking about the whole time and if you had only listened life would have been so much easier!!! :)

I can't wait for the z-atty-g myself, there are other fanboys asking me for info, too......in PMs, of course!!! :thumb:

another negative experience handled with the class and tenor of a Zen Master! i am often impressed when i see a newbie come in here kicking and screaming and picking fights. then, after some time in the the house that Zen built, they are helpful and friendly. i appreciate that you often take the time to explain your frustrations to us, but you never have to. most of us realize that you are often dealing with "screaming children" so we sit back and wait. i had a few moments of personal growth in this regard. i remember saying to my wife, "i PMed him... i haven't heard back... WTF?... i thought we were buddies..."
after some "grown-up time", i realized, "he's a man on an island, doing a cool thing that everyone wants to be a part of.... relax and be patient". i consider that my own personal "Zen Moment". since then, it's been oodles of fun just enjoying the other folks, helping the newbs, and letting my excitement grow slowly. THAT IS ZEN...
hang in there, Mike. you are one of the good ones. we understand.... by the way, i'm buying your first drink next weekend. coffee, tea, soda, beer, tequila, whatever.... you tell me.

Keep yer head up Zen...i think you are doing awesome. I am not one to love new'er' vernacular, but i think the saying goes "Haters gonna hate", that seems appropriate to this. If it were me, if people complained, they get blocked and never sold to (probably why i am not a business man). You are a business and a business has the right to not sell to whomever they want right? Now, you dont just go pulling that card on everyone, but if you get nastiness, and hate spilled at you...poof...done.... If you are feeling stress on it and anxiety...definitely cut the cord. You dont need them, you have faithful followers who will play music with you til the ship goes down. IMO, you should strive to make the best product for the most people you can, pleasing everyone will never happen.

Now onto something else.

Ok Zenfidels, a little help,
So i am on day 3 of my Standard now, and i have not been getting consistent hits. I havent touched anything from the way it was sent, and yet i feel the only time i get awesome vapor is when i tilt the Standard so the wick is entirely encased in liquid. When the tank is super full this is of little worry, but once i get about half a tank of liquid left it is a fight to hold the PV the right way to get it to hit nice.

I have tried a few juices of different mixes, and get the same result.

When it hits i am super happy! I just want it to hit more!

now dont get me wrong, this device is amazing...stunning, and feels great...i am just trying to work through the growing pains i guess.

Much love to Zen!
