Zen~, I'm thinking about using (next month's) z-atty on a regulated 5 volt GLV2 and I'm wondering if you have an idea of approximately how many coil wraps would be needed to get into the 3-ish ohm range. I'm assuming it's not just additive, as in "If 4 wraps = 1.5 ohm then 8 wraps = 3 ohm".

Hi Tim... it's completely additive, but at 5 V on a genesis you should head closer to 10-11 wraps, in my experience

Oh, cool. Thanks Zen~

Electricity and I are distant and wary acquaintances and we eye each other suspiciously whenever we have to interact. I just assumed there was some sort of complex formula for it, like for each x mm of coil length there is a given amount of resistance based on the gauge of the wire blah blah blah. Nice to know it's simple addition - I can do that!

So 10 or 11 wraps huh? That ought to be quite a trick in that small amount of space. I bought 75 feet of wire so maybe I'll practice a little, heheheh.

Practicing patience is so overrated. Daylight's aburning. Wallet is heavy. What's a gal to do?
Practicing doesn't make perfect, but perhaps perfect practice makes perfect. I have a ways to go I'm afraid, and I don't think I'll ever get this perfect patience perfected. WHAT'S THE HOLD UP??!!! ,, ... oops, I mean... take your time Sweetie, no rush. I know you're busier than all get get out. There's always tomorrow. The sun will shine tomorrow too, I'm sure. But, actually, all kidding aside, I do hope you know that it's okay to finish up tomorrow what you can't get around to today. No problem. I'll be here, I ain't goin' anywhere ... before the sun goes down....
