Nothing better then the sun being up at 2am, except the cold dark winters.

Speaking of cold. I accidentally left my zenesis in the car when I went into work. It was 2 hours before I realized(after 30min chain vape on the drive to work, I do not need my first vape break for 2 hours). It was like 17 outside and I was paranoid of bringing it into the warm warehouse for fear if the quartz cracking. But the quartz held up great. So I know at 17 I am good, now -20 might be different. We will see.

Ahhh the dreaded fire bridge(at least that's what I call it). Loosen your center post and get rid of some of that slack in your wire. Your wick should be almost touching the center post.

The wire between the center post and ground screw should go counter clockwise around that screw then wraps up the coil on the outside of wick clockwise, then wraps counter clockwise around the top center screw. The actual wrap is clockwise.
Thx to willowize for pointing that out to me. I had it wrong.

Good point. Try going around your center post the opposite direction too. That will actually allow you get the wick close to the center post while also using less wire.

You want to try to avoid those long gaps of wire that are not touching the wick. They dry out first and instant harsh hit.

Yea wrap the wire around the screw the opposite way you would put something around the screw. If you havent watched zens coil making video you need to do so. it addresses everything you are going through and doing wrong. Don't give your hopes up we are here to help.

Are you sure about the counter clockwise up the wick? Looks to me that he runs wire between the center post and ground screw (-) (counter clockwise around that screw) then wraps coil up on the outside of wick clockwise, then wraps counter clockwise around the top center post(+).
Therefore, the only counter clockwise is around the screws only, the actual wrap is clockwise.

Maybe I'm seeing that wrong.

Here's the problem I'm having with the LillipuZen...

I hate it!

The 14250 battery isn't enough to have much battery life, they are hard to get, and I've yet to find an IMR in that size, and if I did the battery life would be even shorter.

The next battery up from that is the 16340 and IMRs are available... But it's only 1 mm shorter than the far superior 18350.

To design an entirely new PV to save 1mm in length and 2mm in diameter is not the best way to focus my efforts.

It's cool to have a baby Zenesis, and the LillipuZen seemed like a good idea, but Im not seeing the value... Unless people really want a small PV with only a couple hours battery life.

I'm just Not as confident in this one... If people buy it on price because it's the cheapest zenesis, they may be dissapointed when it's really a niche product.

You could probably cram a really small atty atop a 14500 for a device that's longer but thinner at least, with barely passable battery life.

Zen we wan´t the 4mm thinner diameter option. It isn´t because of the price it´s because of the size. I´m not seeking for cheap Zenesis. I just would love to have one and I know I´m not alone. Start with the 14500 model and Z-atty-Lilli. I think the 14500 battery has a tolerable battery life, it´s not a 18350 but almost. I think the 14500 would be surprisingly small and light. And by the time you have the 14mm diameter unit made, someone might have come up with the shorter 14mm diameter IMR-battery. Isn´t it the CR-2 size that is used in laser pointers, cameras and so on.

I just don´t wan´t you to give up on the Lilli, and I know you won´t

Mergryphon, if you are on this thread plz compare your coil to this one, playing with it with an empty tank....when it glows right it will vape right!

Hello Zenfidels,

Been travelling and haven't been able to keep up with the thread.

Got a question or two about my Standard.

I'm still using the wick that Zen set it up with. I'm using Prothol juice which is pretty thin I think.

Problem is it doesn't wick really well. The coils get red hot. I've put some drops of juice on the coils then it works pretty good for a minute or two.

Seems to wick a little better if I hold it sideways or upside down.

Should I make a new wick? When the coils glow red hot then it tastes bad.

Other question is that if I have a pretty full juice chamber and lay it down for a few hours, most of the juice leaks out into the cap. I think through the vent hole.

Anything to do about that? Do you guys keep it in a cup standing up or something? It will stand on the switch end, but it's wobbly and I sure don't want this beautiful thing to fall over.

I tried to put in a new wick, and there's a little plastic insulator in the hole for the wick and it's too tight to fit the wick through.

I'm using one of Zen's prerolled #400 wick. I imagine that little insulator is squeezing the wick down there so that juice can't flow through freely. I just watched the coil basics video. Need to go watch it again, I remember Zen mentioning something about that hole.

Any tips?

Near the end of the video he talks about how to thin the wick down. Roll it between your fingers in the direction it is wound. It will tighten up to get it in the hole.... that's what she said!!!
