anyone notice that their juice in their tank will get darker as you vape?

why is that? I have a juice that is fairly clear and darkens as the tank gets lower? is it heating up somehow?

Ob, in my first three tanks or so in my Zenesis, this was really pronounced. The last 2 or 3 the color hardly changes at all. I am guessing that while some discoloration is normal in any vaping device, the oxidization on the wick may also be a factor that eventually diminishes over the life of the wick. :2c:

BINGO!!! Now that you said that I think I know what your lack of flavor is coming from. I have had this happen to me early on in my Genisis learning days. :)

When I had this happening I had 2 problems. The first one was that I had the wick touching the bottom of the tank. Whey of do this you cause a short in the tank that eats up the power from the coil and in the dark you can sometimes even see the wick arcing in the aptank when you activate the coil. This will absolutely cause you to have less flavor and make your juice darker as you vape.

The other possible problem is that you are ,not getting enough heat to the coil thus causing the juice to not heat up enough to vape well. It heats up just enough to get somewhat acceptable vapor and cooks the juice a bit instead of vaporizing it.

First thing to check is the wick touching the bottom of the tank though. It is a very common issue with new Genisis Vapers. ;)

I am 99% certain that this will correct the problems you have been describing ob.

Paislia, you are having the exact same issue which is why you are now noticing that it is getting better. The short is insulating itself as time goes on. Lift the wick a mm or 2 and the juice will not discolor very much throughout a tank. You may notice a very slight change in color, but it will be so slight that you may not notice at all.

Remember, never have the wick touch the bottom of the tank. It can be close but should not touch.

I think the heating but not vaporizing was my problem. Thanks for "clearing that up" ;) I check my tank every time I pick the thing up to make sure it is not touching anything and that there are no shorts in the coil. I think I was just a bit tentative with it at first, and I may have been having connectivity issues with the battery until I buffed it with an emory board. :) Your explanation makes much sense - I am diligent about the no bottom feeding rule in my tank though ;)

Yup, a bad battery connection or weak battery does also cause this as well as having too many coils for the juice you are using. Some juice like Ti hot and some does not ;)

Hey everyone, hope you're having a nice weekend!

My standard is working well consistently now and I'm enjoying it a lot! The flavor is great, but my problem (if you can call it that) is that the vapor is underwhelming. Like I said, flavor great but vapor not matching up to other atties or cartos with the same juice.

Any tips?

Okay, who has tips for me? I have the coil glowing beautifully, and I've cut the tip of the wick off to below the post. When I tilt it to make sure the wick is saturated with juice, it hits beautifully for about 2 hits. Then dry hits. It just doesn't want to wick. I pulled the wick up slightly from the bottom and have tried thinning out my juice and then switching juices completely. (how do you clean out old juice from the tank btw?) - my Zini just doesn't want to wick. Is there anything I can do that I haven't tried? I've been through almost 3 tanks of juice. Oh, I also tried pushing a paperclip through the hole in the coil to open it up a little. If I can get it to wick, it will be perfect! As it is, when I get a good hit, it's the best I've ever had!

Great flavor and no vapor is usually a sign that your coil isn't getting hot enough. Also make sure your air hole is in direct line of the wick.

Try taking one wrap off and check the alignment of the air hole.

I was messing with my coil, trying to get it all lined up and mine caught on fire.. LOL

Zen did that with mine when he was setting it up this afternoon for me. In person. He did that for me. In person. LOL. It was really cool to get a device and pointers from the man who makes The APV. In person.

I got excited when I started to read this post, but then read further and realized that my wick is nowhere near the bottom. If anything it is up higher than it has to be.

I do feel like the juice is getting heated inside the tank somehow, but do not know how.
