OH, boy

The little miracle is here.

Now... how unlucky can I be?

Here's what happened. I put some PG in it and I fired it. All I noticed was that only the topmost coil was glowing. Then all of them started glowing, but before I could say anything it caught on fire. I depressed the button, but fire kept on going and it kinda smelled funky. I blew it out and I noticed that the insulator thing was the one that must have been burning, cause there was a melted collar around the base of the wick.

So now... what to do? It makes vapor but it only tipped downward and it leaks around the wick. And I'm weary about the melted thing there...

Help?... Help?...Help? help?

As I'm catching up on this thread, I can't help but think that these nay sayers think it's relatively easy to build a PV, let alone in mass quantities. Then I think of guys like Imeo (of GG fame), ooSturmoo, and Nosmoker who like Zen have rabid followers, but have the same troubles keeping up with demand. There's a reason why we all want their stuff. It's because of the engineering and quality which takes time and when you're a one-man shop, it's even more important because it's not exactly profitable to build in such small quantities. If it was, we'd probably be all be satisfied with the stuff that comes over from China! Quality precision machining costs about $250 just for setup for each piece, and without owning a Zen, I figure there must be at LEAST 6 machined pieces, and that's if you already have CNC ready files. If you had to buy your own CNC machine capable of churning these things out, it would be several thousands of dollars. Add on top of that the materials and polishing and finishing costs and for small batches, plus marketing and distribution costs (web site, shipping, shopping cart software, hosting, etc.) and I'd be surprised if any of these mod makers are making more than $50 NET Profit per item. When you factor that in for someone like Zen~, that's probably somewhere around $20,000/yr. for a 2nd job! Now I'm sure someone will challenge my numbers, and that's ok, I'm not an expert nor pretend to be, but my point is, when there's not a lot of dough in it, you do it because you enjoy it, and so these guys make it more out of a labor of love than money and as such, we should all take a chill pill and relax and appreciate these guys for what they do and not chastise them for what they don't. If you're not happy with how Zen~ does it, go hang out hitting F5 over at CoV for a GGTS, or wait on one of the lists over at VW or UkV for a Katana, Orion, or SturmMod. You won't be treated any differently with their lack of information or delays. I've been patiently waiting for a SturmMod, GGTS, and Orion with about the same amount of information than provided here. You want a readily available, mass produced mod, go buy one on Alibaba or Health Cabin. Thanks for listening. I will not reply or comment further.

Cool, I placed my bid.. my fiance will probably kill me if I get it, but I doubt no one else will bid higher and it's already twice what I have in my paypal 'cause my business has been abysmal for the last couple months. Oh well.. only live once, and Twygg should keep living.
