Same here guys. I do portraits. I do them for fun. I even consider myself an "amateur". I got desperate one time and started selling them. Big mistake. Never again. Now, I draw when I want, what I want. And, when I DO draw someone's portrait...I give it as a gift. It's so much more rewarding.

I have always refused all money offers to make a quilt for someone because they want you to make just what they like and I only make what I like.......LOL......I also refuse to make a quilt to match a room's decor, even for family. I only make scrap quilts and when I give the quilts away, they can either use them, or not, as I've already gotten my enjoyment out of making it.........LOL

I still have a quilt my Grandmother made me when I was little little.
One of those "old Southern" quilts where rags were used for batting, and I believe it has the "ties" instead of the "usual" intricate stitching.

I've made a few in my time, but I had better luck using one piece for the top, one piece for the bottom.
Cutting on the lines, or even coloring within them was never my strong point. LOL
I LOVE quilts, and as such, don't "use" them so much as "have" them.

I love old quilts and have rescued a few from the GW.

Better to use quilts than save them. You never know how the next person will take care of them and you might as well get the enjoyment out of the quilts while they are in your possession.

Thanks for the warm welcome K-man. It's nice to be back. I had so much vape mail waiting for me too. The best things. Some pluid from K-man, and some other flavors samples, so when I opened my mailbox it was like getting punched in the face with a anise fist.

Then there was the mini from grruss. Another new toy from somewhere far far away, and some other things...

Great to be home...

Hey brother. Good to have you back
