I think you are running it on a 5 volt mod. You probably popped the coil.

+1. I've only ever vaped a Zen with a single battery. I have no idea what the coil would do above 4.2V. I know that my 4/5 wrap coil can be a little hot with a fresh-off-the-charger battery. if I don't make sure to keep the wick very wet......

Yes, Steve, I'm sure I read that. AND, in my defense...my judgement was clouded with excitement and anticipation...and that important piece of advice must have been in the clouds somewhere when I was eagerly shoving the batteries into the Saber...unable to have the patience to think it through.

There. I admitted it. Sorry Zen. And, thank you for that gentle reminder Stevo :)

sorry lady i would of done the same probably new device as well re-wrap the coil and enjoy x x

OK, it seems as if we have a consensus. Using double stacked batteries (a "Zen No-No") has "popped" a coil, thereby requiring my dumb a** to now attempt to recoil my new ZAU after the first use? Does that sound about right?

(P.S. MissEmma, you hit the nail on the head....Kudos!)

Thank you very much folks. I appreciate your help!

Lady

No problem, Paislia. Sometimes it just needs to be said. LOL I mucked up :( There's really no nicer way to tell me that. LOL And I can take it. I know stacked batteries are voodoo. My bad. My impatience got the best of me.

I don't offend easily. And I'm grateful for all the advice I can get. And, my guess is....tomorrow morning when I sit down to wrap my first coil...I'll be back on here asking for more help. Ya think? LOL

Yes, Stevo did word that a little better than I.

Yes, Lady, I think that is what is required here. Watch Zen's coil wrapping video again (or for the first time) - he really does explain it well there. I had to pause and unpause it countless time on my first try. You can dooooooo it!! :)

I had to wrap a new coil after a couple of days because it was burning my mouth and tongue!! I keep telling her that if I can do it, she can...LOL

I know that some folks can wrap a perfect coil in just a few seconds, but it takes me about 20 minutes to do it, and it's NOT perfect, but a workable coil isn't that hard to do. It really doesn't have to look perfect, as long as it's not too tight, or too loose, and there is enough separation between them, so that it doesn't short. You really CAN do this...

Thank you MissEmma and everyone. I'm going to wait until I can have bright sunlight in the morning to do the coil. And, yes, I can do it. I will watch the video, I will pay attention, I will bug MissEmma and my other friends on the forum....but I will "get 'er done". LOL

Lordy, well, at least I will be getting my "learning curve" issues started early, right Tybin? Maybe that's best.

OH
What you mean twist it up, literally twist it together? Wouldnt that raise the resistance?

LOWERS the resistance. It's like increasing the wire thickness, or like linking those two wires in parallel, you pick your analogy... There's more resistance when you try to shove your current into a thinner wire...

That's what I was afraid of. Let me get this straight. Most people use these for weeks or months without having to wrap a new coil. I place it to my lips, hit the button once....and I need a new coil? Jaysus....which vaping God did I p*zz off?

Oh, wow! I'm sorry for you! But on the other hand, when I first pushed the button on my Standard, the very first time, it burst into flames, lol! Honestly, I wish I would have had the "just vape it" experience, but I guess the sooner you have to learn to do your own coil, the better.

If you really must use it at a higher voltage - which is absolutely NOT necessary - just do more wraps, that way you'll end up in a decent vape and you have less chance of popping the coil.

Yeah, but you didn't stick stacked batteries into the mod right out of the gate I bet? LOL

(The worst part is....Zen will read this and see what a dumb azz I was. Snot. I hate that! LOL But, that's ok...I can be used as an example of what NOT to do! People will learn from my poor judgement. Heck, I might even be famous! Or at the very least "infamous").

:)

Lady, I messed up Zen's perfectly coiled Zau too:p

You're absolutely right Stevo. That's exactly what MissEmma said. And, I'm not going to get all whiny and assume I can't accomplish it. It may take me a while....and few tries....but it's definitely a workable issue.

OK, thanks everyone. I'm going to hit the hay. Have a good night all! I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow!

doing a wick just take your time some times i mess them up still and have to re do them till i get it right you will get better at it good luck :)
