I had an insulator. The problem was my installation. Since it was such a tight fit, I "mushroomed" it when I was installing it. All I needed to do was remove the coil/wick and trim the fat mushroomed head off of it with an Exacto knife. Excellent wicking commenced. At least that was the problem on the Ti. I don't have the Standard with me today, but I'm guessing it has the same problem, since I replaced the insulator on it, too.

With all the due respect for the Zenesis as a whole, I must confess that in my experience that insulator is more trouble than is worth. It's not hard to oxidize a wick correctly, but it's easy to get into trouble from the insulator: choking the wick (that's what she said), burning, getting the wick stuck and who knows what else.

If you don't have any problem, just vape it. IF you do have problems with it, just know it can work without it provided the wick is carefully oxidized. As a bonus, you get to use a fatter wick that wicks better and vapes like a fog machine...

Pchela, I know how you feel!! Just take it easy, and I hope you feel better soon!!!

You know something, Zen is a pretty awesome guy, and his devices show that as well!! I can't wait to get my ZAP, then the Cobalt!! After that I am SURE that he will show another device like the Sidewinder and make me start saving $ again to get that one also. My wife keeps saying, "Don't you think you have enough PVs, tanks, rebuildables, and other devices related to vaping?" My answer to her is, "But Zen keeps making things that I need to have, and there are so many others I want to experience while I am at it!!" Better then spending $10 a day on the "Stink Sticks", and I could be doing drugs, or spending $ of other girls. So I guess she see my point!!! LOL!!! I REALLY DO LOVE VAPING!!!!!!!!

Bump for mitcho and all :) (yes this is about the cOBalt)

A week before they are ready to ship, I will let people know...

Then, I'll have Kcos make some form that she knows how to do that's on line at some big server that can handle gobs of traffic... and I'll open the order sheet... the first 85 people that get the form filled out will be notified on where to go to pay and they'll be given a unique coupon code that will work only one time, so nobody gets cute.

This way the site won't be too overwhelmed, as the only people going there will be people with confirmed inventory.

i know I have a better chance at winning the lottery, but does anyone have an idea of how they are going to go about selling the Cobalt once it is released. Is there a list or will it be first come/first serve on orders? I certainly would like to have one (or any zenesis APV for that matter!)

Gotta keep reading through this thread to catch up lol. I am not home right now but I will take some pics of my coil setup and put them on here. Can someone pm me with how to take the tank off of a zap? I am cutting my fingers trying to get this damn thing off

Just make sure to take the top o-ring off

just a comment regarding the insulator wicks.

Everyone should remember a important fact. One of Zen's goals was to bring the genesis devices to the masses. He and many others felt that the genesis experience once set up was superior to that of atty's, carto's etc.

He created these devices and set them up with all the available tools so that a person who has never used one of these could experience the joy of the genesis devices. That being said, these were not made JUST for the new user. They are made for a optimal experience for whoever wants to use them.

As people get more comfortable with these, they will undoubtedly find ways to tweak them to make them more satisfying for their personal experience. Different wicks, coils etc. The insulator is there (I would guess) to take the issues of a unoxidized wick out of the equation. For those who are familiar with these devices, they know they are not absolutely necessary. That being said many will still use them. I believe even Lorderos (who knows these as well as anyone) is still using his if my memory serves me correctly. It can help when used properly, but no, it is not absolutely necessary. If you are not going to use it, you have to make sure your wick is oxidized properly or it can lead to issues.

there. That is my one serious post for the day :)

ps. elfstone mentioned bigger wicks. some like them bigger, some smaller. I use a very narrow mesh and it can leak, but I think the flavor is better. just my humble opinion. Maybe Ill try a bigger one soon.
