Actually, Aluminum is a GREAT conductor, but I like the silver line of the stainless there, sets it off nicely and unfinished aluminum wouldn't have looked as good... it only adds a couple grams to the weight, so I decided to go with stainless.

OK, I'm still an idiot... but I'm a better idiot. Aluminum conducts, but anodized aluminum does not right? I don't like aluminum unless it's mirror polished, so yeah, knurled unfinished aluminum... glad you used ss.

Good Evening Zenfidels, and Zen~

That cOBalt looks absolutely stunning, almost stunning enough to trade my BAM for one. I don't think I can afford both atm, but who knows what the future will bring.

Wow that is hot! I just can't stop staring...:drool::drool:

Used a lot in vacuum deposition equipment 'cuz it's structurally stable and doesn't outgas (that's what the machine shop I worked in specialized in - chip-making machine components. ICs that is; not snacks. :p )

-Insp. 2211

I didn't understand a word, but I was impressed anyway.......LOL

Ooops sorry.....I always think of 7075 when I think aircraft alum. I imagine there are many in the aircraft alum series.

As a steel substitute they go with 7075 in some aircraft structures... but it's loaded with Zinc so it's more prone to corrosion. Where corrosives are concerned, 6061 is a better choice... it's not as strong as 7075, but the weight advantage is equal and the chemical stability is superior... I figured that since we're dealing with ejuice that can actually crack bulletproof polycarbonate, that chemical stability is the way to go.

But both are considered aircraft grade aluminum... the applications vary.

And that is why I love Zen products. Thank you sir.

No cheaping out on materials.

No matter how well you can make a device if you use crappy materials it will be a crappy PV.

Materials matter... I don't price shop for the cheapest available "whatever"... I decided when I started this that I was going to make the best PV that I can make... and that starts with the best materials available.

I can buy cheaper Aluminum, Cheaper Stainless... use cheaper finishers and MUCH cheaper cutting tools, machinery, etc... but at the end of the day, it would basically be making the statement "yeah, that's good enough... whatever"

I want to say, here it is, it's made of the best stuff I can source, and though things are NEVER perfect, I can honestly say I tried.

That's what matters to me.

A week without CB is like a year without sweet sunshine, I hope her dog is OK.....:)

Heard from her today.... poor Luna is OK. Although she's swollen in places you don't want to be swollen in. She got a few more ...... than she could handle apparently.... from the yellowjackets that is.
