theres a pbusardo video somewhere, where mike explains the top cap design and how it affects air-vapor flow/expansion, and why theyre better than other gennies. from the moment i heard that interview, I knew i had to have one

I actually know exactly which one you're talking about, and it was that video that did the trick for me too. Not just the fluid dynamics of the airflow, but his attention to detail on materials safety.

That started what felt like an eternal quest, but I did end up snagging a ZAP. Which I love. It's just not lightweight enough for me to take outside of my house.

Maybe, MAYBE, possible if I could find a minimalist aluminum/titanium mod for it. But simply not possible on my provari, or Legacy. I was eyeballing the Titanide but after reviewing the dimensions it's both huge, and shockingly heavy for titanium.

I think I'm just plain stuck waiting for a true Zen hybrid. Size and weight savings from not building 510 connectors on both sides make a big difference, as would having the atomizer portion made from alum/titanium too.

May need to be a slant top for the ZAP to fit right, someone here can confirm.

I might sound stupid, but is this a replacement of that little plastic peice with the spring in it? What if they just send that pice and you swap it out? Instead of the entire SW?

No because the bottom plate and screw needs to be change out also.

I tried the sidewinder today with the fix and WOW ! It really hits hard I can't believe the differences it's awesome now. Most peeps will not have to need to kick it that's for sure.

Yup. Life, warranty, rust...$3700 gross back end :)

I had 2 names when I sold cars; Jonny Car, and Mad Max. I would prep my customers telling them outside on the lot it was Disney World. Anything you want, I will make your dreams come true! When I would reach for the door to escort them inside to start a deal I would turn to them and say "Welcome to Jurassic Park!" "Are you a good negotiator? Because I am! Do you have kids? Well, I would delay having any if I were you! Or "Hope they like public school and a local 2 year college degree, because they won't have any choice after today!"
It's really amazing how levity and honesty can disarm a customer to negotiate when you point out the elephant in the room and get it out of the way with out having to lie. :nun:

That thing looks really good. Now I'm torn. Instant gratification, or wait for the Cobalt?

Sigh.

I've already dumped way too much money into hardware in the last couple of months, and I'm about 99.95% sure I would still end up buying a Cobalt. Steel is still steel, and a steel ZAP plus a steel P+ is still going to weigh more than a Cobalt, even if the size ends up being roughly the same. Love the switch on it, though.

Okay, I may as well confess. Not only am I going to buy a Cobalt, if/when Zen does another run of TI... I'll get one of those too.

I can hold out. I can hold out. I can hold out. Is anyone convinced yet? I'm not.

(takes a puff from ZAP on provari)

I can hold out. It's not like I'm traveling on business for the next two weeks and will end up not having my ZAP.

(takes a puff from ZAP on provari)

Okay, fine. I can't hold out. But if I ordered it, I wouldn't even be home to get it. By the time it got here, the Cobalts will be available. And it wouldn't get here in time for my next trip anyway.

I can hold out!

(takes a puff from ZAP on provari)

I can't hold out.

(goes quietly insane)

In your honor, I'm watching the Curb - car salesman episode.

You ever go out on the floor and show customers how difficult it is for an SUV to roll over??

lol no but I did tell a guy once that I didn't have to ask my wife if I could sell him the car....how come he had to ask his if he could buy it?

If light weight is your target, you really do need to hold out for the Cobalt. They weigh NOTHING. When I picked up the BAM the first time, it was like holding cardboard in comparison to my other APVs. It's AMAZINGLY LIGHT WEIGHT. Good things come to those who wait. :D Says she who is one of the most impatient people to walk the planet. ;) I know how you feel though. I really do!

You know 'authentic' Italians have to continually shorten our names so people can remember it. Jonathan Carcopo became Jonny Car (sans the silent, obnoxious, & extraneous "H").
Even a Kaveman (sic) can remember that ;)

I had a friend names Mike Masterson, he was an Audio Mastering Engineer. Sometimes there is something to the name you are given or cursed with.
(If his name was spelled 'Mic Masterson', it would be humorous, brilliant, contrived, but also boring)

Ask Ian...

Fingerman? Really? He really could be a proctologist! Well I don't want to limit his career options, he could also be a gynecologist, but that's not as funny or deprecating. Too much? Please someone tell me when I traverse a line of decency. I am well versed in contrition and retraction.

I told him that I used to date someone named Fireman, but Fingerman would have been more appropriate...ba da bum!!

My name was originally Fazzalari...which I actually like. Perhaps I'll change it back. I've found over the years that names with a "Z" really throw people off. So exotic.
