Having crappy vaping days as of late: BuzzPro broke day leaving for vacation, had problems with ZAP (still having them, but to be fair and honest, I really need to sit down and attend to my coils), SB threads seem to be messed up from the damn 801 adapter I use off and on, add to which I am running out of cartomizers and of course they are all 801s, don't want to buy more as I am waiting on the BAM. My favorite juice doesn't seem to be kicking in as usual and got crappy choices. Once I get my BAM, going to make decision about hanging onto the ZAP or just getting another Zenesis and selling both the ZAP and PP; I'm very frustrated, to say the least!

I thought you guys would get a kick out of this, I was coaching my gf through her first wrap last night, she doesnt like me telling her what to do so she told me to go away. This morning i looked at it and saw this...

she said thats the only way she could get 2 ohms out of it because she tried a 5, 6 and 7 wrap, i think this one is 12?The funny thing is that it vapes and it actually reads 2 ohms. I had a 5 wrap on there before so I think I'll rewrap it a 5 or maybe try a 6. Why is it only reading 2 ohms though? my coils are a bit bigger than that so i thought maybe its because hers are so tiny, oh well... i thought it was funny anyways...
Edit: Looking at it though, she actually did a pretty good job coiling it

Funny, with mine, I was only at like 4 or 5 wraps and it was reading 4.5.
I had to re-do the wire.
But hey, if it's working for her.....
Juanita, don't get rid of the zap. They hit so well. I'm sure you can solve your problems, the devices really aren't all that complicated. A quick skype session is sure to solve what ails you Just shoot me a pm and I'll help however I can.

so why does the fat coil cause a difference in the O word?
I don't understand why 3 wraps on a fat coil is coming out to 1.8?
I believe it has to do with the length of wire used to make a wrap. The fatter the wick the more wire it takes. And the longer the wire, the more resistance it has.
you are correct sir! and you can also factor in the gauge of the wire. Mike started this whole project with kanthal 32a and until he says different, that where i'm living...
I ran into something that has me scratching my head. Yesterday I started getting dry hits from the AYS and when I checked, the insulator was melted to the wick and I messed it up while trying to get it unstuck. I put a new wick and wrapped a new 4 wrap coil (that's what seems to work the best on my SS Mini), adjusted it so it was firing perfectly, seasoned the coil, and filled it up. I was getting about 5 pulls of good flavor and vapor production and then BAM.........metalic so bad it would burn my throat.
This morning I got up and tried it again and the same thing. I took the top cap off and fired it a few times at 3 o'clock and it seemed to be doing fine but after about the 5th time I would notice some of the coils glowing. I emptied the juice to readjust the coil but they were all glowing evenly. The one thing I did notice was that they were getting cherry red instantly. So, I pulled the coil off and wrapped a new 5 wrap coil on the same wick and am now getting the perfect vape out of it.
Only thing I can think of is that the 4 wrap coil was getting so hot, it was burning the juice off faster than it could wick. I don't have a meter so I didn't check the coils. But I thought that a 4 wrap would work the same on it as it does on the Mini. Could the extra length of the wick have anything to do with it?

I know I probably just missed it somewhere.. but I checked Mike's site.. and the search here on ECF doesn't seem to be finding anything sidewinder (or its just broke). But my upgrade kit arrived yesterday and I'm hunting for the instructions. Anyone have a link to where I can find them?
