Okay, this isn't just one song - I couldn't decide on just one anyway. It's a show by David Holt, who collects songs and stories of Appalachia. Love this guy. I haven't seen him in person yet, but I think he's just fascinating!
I'm loving what you're playing, CATastrophe! It's loads of fun hearing the classics that most of us are posting, but hearing great stuff that I've never heard before always feels like I'm getting another Christmas gift, you know? I've just inherited two banjos and a gorgeous guitar from my great uncle, and that fancy picking reminds me of his enormous talent. How about a little of my dearly beloved Steve Martin on banjo?
I'm a northerner by birth, but I'm quite fond of bluegrass music. Now I live in the heart of it. As a teen, I would go to Bean Blossom, IN for the Bill Monroe bluegrass festival when I lived in Indiana.
