I have been using mine for the past few weeks and I got used to the airy draw much more quickly than I thought I would. I was using Vivi Novas before that and now when I go back to them it feels like I am sucking a thick milkshake through a thin straw. This is one of those very subjective things that you will either love or hate from what I can tell. I am interested in trying a DID or the Cobra just to compare the draw but I have spent too much recently and need to take a break!

I was way more airy than I anticipated. It took me a couple days to get used to it but now I like it. I just do what zen suggested, slow down and take long, smooth, slow draws. It rarely goes outside of the house because it's so heavy.. but I do most of my vaping here at home and when I'm here, I find myself reaching for it over anything else.

Thank you everyone, Can't wait to give it a shot.

Makes me wonder if it would make a difference by adding that rubber/plastic insert into the drip tip like the VV novas have.

Now I'm not sure if the VV Nova's have them in the drip tips so that they don't leak, or if their in there for a tighter draw.

anyone have that answer?

Anyone Vape boba's bounty with the stock setup? or will I have to change the wick.

after smoking Red's for 28yrs I guess I'm used to somewhat of a tighter draw. but, I can see over time changing that too. just like I quit the butts.

I didnt have much luck luck with the stock wicks so i ordered some #500 mesh and rolled a tight wick, it pushes 100% VG very nicely. No real need to tilt. Check out this thread about the #500 and tight wicks, really good info there. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/330407-500-ss-mesh.html

BTW its very airy as been stated, slow and long drags work best. I have no problem using my carto tanks and vivi novas during the day, The ZAP rarely goes out with me but i finally just got the it working to my liking, its been frustrating at times and ive had to just leave it alone for a few days at a time.

Enjoy your ZAP. :vapor:

BTW I smoked American Spirits for over 13 years and no other heater had a tighter draw. IMHO

BB is all I use right now and the stock setup didn't cut it for me. I swapped the #400 wick with a #325 and re-did the coil and it worked much better but I am still not 100% satisfied. Because the wicks that come with the ZAP are so skinny and have such little material in them they are rather floppy which (for me, at least) makes it somewhat difficult to wrap a coil. If you watch Scott's review you will see that he actually put the supplied syringe needle in the wick while he was wrapping his coil to make it easier. I couldn't get that to work myself but after a few tries I have managed to wrap some nice coils.

I went ahead and ordered some #500 mesh based on the recommendations of many people on here and I am looking forward to giving it a try. Once it arrives I am going to remove the insulator and use the drill bit method to wrap my next coil as I think that will be much easier.

i will never understand why people want tight draws so they feel like they are sucking a golf ball through a garden hose. on top of that the degradation in performance

I totally agree...but too airy of a draw you lose flavor. My AGA_T had a 1mm air hole but the draw on it was way too stiff for me so I had to drill it out. A few weeks ago I got a Cobra, I don't know how they designed it but the 1mm air hole works perfect on the Cobra. The draw is stiffer than the Z_atty for sure but it is not stiff. The flavor from the Cobra is a lot better than the Zatty in my opinion.

I have a Cobra and a ZAP. I like them both for what they are. It reminds me of my old cigar smoking days. Not all of them drew the same. Not even two cigars from the same box drew the same. Sometimes, I like the firm draw of the Cobra. Sometimes I like the airyness of the ZAP.

I never liked the airy draw, agree about the lack of flavor with airy draw. The lonnnng draw I did not like, who ever smoked like that?. just seemed like taking super long vape and only getting half the flavor I wanted. my comparison is someone that smoked non filters picks up a ultra light, takes super long puff and pffff nothing. just makes your mouth tired from marathon long draws.

Damn, That doesn't sound so good. Oh well.. We'll see how it goes. It may be good for my Pal, since he was a Marlboro ULTRA Light smoker...
It sucked bumming a .... from him when I ran out too.. They were 1 long drag for me without the filter..lol
