All I can say is that my lungs don't feel like a couple of paper bags anymore and I don't wheeze at night when going to bed. I also don't hock nasty luggies anymore either. 30+ year analog smoker's opinion.

Agreed. It will be unfortunate if there are secret long term consequences, but, my day to day is markedly, unquestionably improved. I don't cough anymore, have more physical energy, and my mental health is better. And, I'm saving money on smokes. I'm open to the idea that e-cig's may not be a 'cure' but wow have they helped me in the short term.

You know, statements like these are really starting to get to me. Some people have side effects from e-cigs, and it shouldn't be discounted. That's why this forum is here. It's the "Health & Safety" forum. What else should we be talking about?? Blowing sunshine up everyone's .... about e-cigs?

I think 99.9% of us that are having problems (and aren't trolls or anti-smokers) really want to make it work. And most of us are keeping our worries to this forum so as not to panic new ecig users. Some of us really are working hard at getting to the bottom of our s/e's. And it's even a good thing to prod ejuice mfgs to create a "better" product.

I understand people worry the FDA is going to snoop on this forum & hear all the complaints (and who knows, maybe they have better things to do). In that case, they either should get rid of the health & safety forum, or make it private (i.e. only can join if a certain amt. of posts) so people can talk freely without others getting defensive. or worried that the FDA is gathering ammunition. I realize that making it private isn't exactly ideal for someone who may not have joined yet & wants to weigh whether they feel comfortable with the switch. But if it's the health & safety forum, this & all the other "concerned" posts are "on topic" discussion here.

I really dont think that the FDA is going to judge the product on what users say on an internet forum. They will do their own tests and come to their own conclusions. Their conclusions will be disclosed, along with any information and data they used to come to those conclusions. They will be freely available to the community.

I too have been looking into vaping and its potential health risks. Alot of people think since Ejuice only has 4 ingredients and anaolgs have 4,000 that its safer.

Well thats like saying that drinking Cyanide is safer than Pepsi, since Cyanide only has one ingrediant, and Pepsi has 32. Analogs CAN give you disease such as cancer, but dont always. *around* 30% of smokers actually die of smoking related illness (8-10% of that being cancer). but with Ecigs, I want to be sure im not sucking on the modern day Asbestos, or something that WILL give 100% of the users some form of illness 5 years down the road.

And getting ejuice from China is just plain scary. Even if you buy from Ruyan, the bottled Ejuices are not made by Ruyan, and even voids the warranty if you use them. There is NO telling what they put into those concoctions. I'm not an "anti e-cig" person at all, and i dont think people should accuse a person of being so, just for asking a safety question.
