I was a pack a day smoker for a few years. I could not LIVE without my cigarettes. I tried patches and cold turkey. I would get to 1-2 weeks and cave every time. 25 days in, and therefore past the 3 week mark, I have no interest in cigarettes. Last night I found a half a cigarette and wondered if what people said was true about how awful they taste and that once a true vapor there was no going back. One inhale and I went  and it was just horrible. I could feel the smoke in my lungs, the taste was like licking an ashtray, it was a terrible experience.

When I first started. I was insanely thirsty all the time. Which is odd for me. I just don't feel thirsty usually. I would always have a ton of trouble becoming dehydrated from not drinking enough water all the time. So vaping actually fixed that problem. It dries out my mouth really quickly and even while I'm vaping I'm taking mouthfuls of water.

Another side effect was loss of interest in eating tons of food. There was simple satisfaction in the very sweet flavors I chose that made desserts uninteresting to me. The nicotine filled, tasty, sweet flavors were like eating dessert but not, so no extra and unnecessary calories going into my body. On top of that my disinterest in food unless I was actually hungry helped me lose weight. I hate keeping track of my pounds so I don't know how much but I hope this trend continues. I have diabetes in my family and being overweight and attracted to sweet things is a very bad combination. So hopefully this will help me towards that goal.

I noticed the insomnia hitting me around week 1 and 2 which was a misery all its own. I found a vitamin supplement called Melatonin, which is what your body already produces to make you feel sleepy, and found it helped me get right to sleep without that drugged and miserable tired feeling in the morning. In fact I felt more energized.

My lung capacity is going back to normal, and because of that I feel REALLY energized and I like to move around more now. It's been great. I bounce about and I'm not winded as easily either.

My sense of taste and smell have come back, which makes life hard when a cat uses the litterbox. Just ick. However it makes food and vaping taste better.

I still notice an increase in mucus in my nose, which happens when I try to quit or smoked too much. It isn't pleasant. All nearly dry and sticky. I know it's just my body trying to get out more gross phlegm but I feel like I've gotten more than my share already. ;)

Oh and at first and for the first two weeks I had horrible body aches. I'm not sure why. I know it's a symptom. Maybe that's why sleeping was so hard. I found my natural anxiety and panic disorders getting worse. Hopefully that will go away eventually. Maybe it's because I literally put down the analogue and picked up the ecig with no weening in between. Maybe that was my "grumpy" or my feeling of stress that is completely normal with quitting analogues. Who knows. It's all speculation at this point.

All I have to say is I love my vapes!!!

Been vaping for about three weeks now, had my last analog about 2 days ago. I've already noticed a slight enhancement of smell (but I do stress the "slight" part), and I have to admit, the coughing on occasion is a bit annoying -- lots of mucus. But that means my body's doing what it's supposed to do, getting rid of the nearly 25 years of crud I'd put into it, so I'm happy with that.

I do notice that I have a bit of puffiness around my eyes. Now, I've gotten stys in the past, and so I assumed it was that, but it's not. Anyone else seem to have a problem with redness/puffiness in or around their eyes?

Oh, and I swear, my dentist will love me, as I'm now fanatically brushing my teeth. So many tastes linger. I never knew that!

I feel soo much better! My feet finally feel the same temperature as the rest of my body. I also don't eat as much as I did, I've always been slender with a huge appetite, now I only really eat when I'm hungry.
You know my biggest problem to start with was getting over the morning cig, but now I dont even think about analogs. I've had a few random moments, like being on hold with a call center and going to the kitchen for a smoke only to realise there's just an ashtray filled with atomizers lol!
When I first quit I had the usual cough, cold, insomnia. But now I feel better than ever really.

I got kind of dry patch thing on my chest. Went away with Selsum Blue shampoo in a couple days. Never got the nic fits or the extreme coughing. Most of my physiological attributes have improved since I've quit. My hunger did get a lot more noticeable. .. like I said though, with being able to breathe better, I've been able to burn a lot more calories at the gym.

I don't get coughing, but lung pains. Especially when I first wake up and reach for my e-cig. Plus, and only when vaping, I feel out of breath. I thought these were weird experiences, since I've only vaped 100% VG thus far.
Plus, was getting headaches first 2 weeks, and face break-out (gone now- I'm on my 5th week being analog free).

Also, extreme dryness- had to bump from regular chapstick to medicated.

Plus sides so far-lessened nasal congestion and better smelling. :) (both meanings of this last part)

Shortness of breath - gone
Wheezing - gone
Multiple per year extended "colds" - not a single cold/flu episode since vaping day one
