First and foremost I'd like to say hello to the vaping community and make an introduction.

I started vaping about 3 weeks ago, my first device was a simple e-go kit that I got for $15 to try and quit smoking .. hated it. Luckily someone at work told me that there's so much more to vaping than that simple little kit with the 18mg nic bottle of e juice that the sales rep told me would help me quit smoking. So I moved on up to an Innokin vv4 with a kanger PT3 mini, lo and behold; I liked it! However something was missing! I didn't care for the nic anymore, I just wanted flavor and clouds(I know ..) So off to my research I went. I found this forum and learned about rba's, so last night I went out and bought my first RDA. After 4 hours, countless kanthal wire/cotton, 20+ different youtube tutorials and surfing the ecf for info on how to build, I finally got a build that works for me! So thank you to all of you on the ecf for helping me out before I even signed up. Now I'm using an eleaf istick 30w with a doge v.2 dual coil clone and couldn't be happier and I look forward to many discussions with everyone here on the forums.

Now onto my question for everyone, how did you get into vaping?

I always needed a smoke before I taught a class. My kids told me I stunk.
Hate being the stinky guy.
Decided to quit... But I had tried an Ego style before. Baught a crappy set up... for way too much money. Then baught a good setup for too much money... then kept buying.... Now I have been settled for a few months now

Hi Eekins and welcome to the forum. Congrats on your decision to quit analogs. I got into vaping by accident. Walking by a kiosk one day and decided to stop and find out about vaping. I left with a Joyetech 510T XL and some Black Cherry juice 12 mg. I have not had or even craved an analog since that day. Not bad after 44 years of PAD smoking. I now have an Istick and Nauti mini but still use the 510T XL for work cuz it fits nicely in my pocket and its great for hands off vaping.

Welcome to ECF Eeakins, Someone delivered a little bundle joy in my life which made me take up Vaping initially, breakdowns in that relations and having to move out of my family home and away form my daughter pushed me to stinkies again.

Then a new relationship and a nice new home where my daughter stays very regularly made me pick my ego twist back up then getting fed up of the leaking gurgeling and constant tank replacements made me seek better gear.

i Found ECF then a B&M opened up the road from me and from combined advice from both parties i have found my nirvana in the form of an istick 50w and a Kanger SubTank with heisenberg from Vampire Vapes !!

HEAVEN!

Welcome, New here myself, started vaping to get off the analogs. Worked for me, have been free from smoke for over a week now, been vaping for a little over a month. Tried to smoke a cig the other night, couldn't do it, tasted like crap.

One thing for sure is this is an evolving process for me. Mainly hit 6 to 8 off a kbox/submini, if i feel the need for a heavier hit I still keep the evod loaded with some 18 to help take off the edge. Slowly stepping away from the need for the heavier nic.

I was smoking a pack a day for almost 10 years. Saw a cheap Joyetech Ego Set online, ordered it and it functioned right away (18mg). After some months I went on with some Nova 2 clearomizers (12mg). Months passed, I got a Smok BEC Pro and the Delta 1 and started mixing my own liquids (6mg). About a month ago I got the Delta 2, was not satisfied, sold it and bought a Subtank Mini instead (3mg).

2,5 years of vaping and maybe about 500$ spent on hardware (including shipping costs, coils, batteries and everything else).

I read on a different forum someone started vaping and within a very short time was smoke free. Something finally clicked and I thought, I've got to try it because I can't keep smoking and I can't seem to quit. So I ordered a MVP 20w and they advised the protank 3 and extra coils, bought some decent juice from them too and here I am smoking wayyyy less than before. :D I don't know why I didn't try this sooner - I guess because I had tried cigalike things and I didn't like them enough. I didn't really know what vaping could be like.

Welcome to the forums!

My story is as so;

Tried a cig-a-like some years back, hated everything about it, smoked analogs since. Until the length of time ago stated in my signature- my mother was vaping when I returned from some travelling and from general distrust of things pushed on to the public I decided I didn't like her new habit, and moaned a bit (sorry!). Then one day she decided to give me an Ego set-up of hers, she wanted me to quit smoking, so I thought I'd at least try. I ended up really enjoying it, and after doing some actual research I appropriately changed my views and opinions and have been vaping full time ever since- bar two taste tests! I now have a Naut mini/eLeaf iStick mini and a Cloupor mini/Subtank mini as my at work and at home vapes (yeah I like my minis!) and have passed the Ego on to a friend who I hope will take up full time vaping!
