[h=3]Methods to Quit Smoking[/h]The majority of cigarette smokers quit without using evidence-based treatments. However, the following treatments are proven to be effective for smokers who want help to quit

1. Brief clinical interventions (i.e., when a doctor takes 10 minutes or less to deliver advice and assistance about quitting)
2. Individual, group, or telephone counseling
3. Behavioral therapies (e.g., training in problem solving)
4. Treatments with more person-to-person contact and intensity (e.g., more or longer counseling sessions)
5. Programs to deliver treatments using mobile phones

Medications for quitting that have been found to be effective include the following:
6. Nicotine replacement products
7. Over-the-counter (nicotine patch [which is also available by prescription], gum, lozenges
8. Prescription (nicotine patch, inhaler, nasal spray)
9. Prescription non-nicotine medications: bupropion SR (Zyban), varenicline tartrate (Chantix).
10. Counseling and medication are both effective for treating tobacco dependence, and using them together is more effective than using either one alone.
11. vaping!!!:vapor:

The messed up thing is that I didn't even try to quit. I picked up my Ego-C starter kit on a Saturday. My intentions were to use it to cut down and just try things out. The next day I went from my average of 40 cigs to 8, 7 on Monday, 5 on Tuesday. Wednesday morning I was on the last 2 cigs from the bag that was open. I just decided to see how long I could go before opening another. Still waiting and haven't had a smoke in two weeks now.

much the same here.bought my ego twists with the intention of cutting analogs from 25 to 30 a day to 5.

charged er up, put in 24 mgs, and havn't lit up or even wanted to in 5 days. this, after 17 years of repeated failings, patch/cold turkey/gas station e cigs....

i have been telling every smoker i know about this. after knowing me and how hard i was on the smokes, 6 people are breaking out the wallets, while others moan about the cost of a starter kit / juice but hand over 300 a month in the gross analogs no questions asked without hesitation.

i spent 220 bucks customzing a ego c twist starter kit and 3 30 mils of juice and extra coils. id spend that and more every month if it means never touching a smoke again. even better, just 60 or 70 for juice and coils.

i never imagined i could walk away from smokes this easy in a millon years.

Very much the same boat. I'm the guy people least expected to quit smoking. I was over 2 packs a day. It's how my GF decided to give e-cigs a go. The most shocking is my own mother is now heavily considering making the switch simply because of my success. I don't even have to preach, just a matter of being an example.

Upping my nicotine from 18 to 24 (by accident) satisfied all my cravings.
I had been smoking with coffee in th morning and vaping the rest of the day. My b&m vape store was out of low potency for mixing my favorite flavor so I had to get 24mg vanilla/hazelnut. With that, I got a buzz and didn't want a cigarette anymore. Now I buy strong and cut it with VG and PG to about 6 to 12%. Much cheaper that way too. I still smoke the 24 first thing in the morning and at stressful times.

Did I quit smoking? Yes, I guess I did. It was so painless that for a while I felt guilty, it was an accident, it just happened. People can smoke around me, and it doesn't bother me at all. I guess sometimes I vape a bit harder, but that is all.

Of course, you do know that e-cigarette forums are a peer support network, don't you? Even that is painless.

I had been vaping off and on for over a year and then 3 weeks ago decided to quit analogs - The Doctor telling me that he would no longer treat my health issues unless I quit also made it easier (I like my Doc!). 2 Days ago I gave away 2 1/2 cartons of ciggs to someone that wanted them. I actually had that many smokes around while I was quitting and it never came to mind to smoke them.
Over the last year though I have collected quite a collection of Vape stuff. It has now consumed me to the point of a hobby as well!

:)
