I've been looking around and apparently there are alot of imitations marketed as the joye 510...Anyway to actually be able to tell the difference? I bought mine at a headstore, and if necessary I'll order another one online through the proper site
No way I know of to tell unless the vendor and packaging says Joye like Cignot.com and LiteCigUSA.net do
The Joye atomizer usually has a fat rounded bridge, but so does Boge, and I think SLB has a skinnier bridge
Scroll down to photo of Joye atty, followed by Boge atty (most stuff Boge makes is decent too - I use Boge soft cap cartos on my 510 because the Joye ones need a syringe)
Mine came in a box that said joye on it, plus the paperwork inside says it.
It doesnt really matter if it's legit though.
Just if it is 510 compatible, meaning that the threads are the same.

^ that. Atomizers can differ from manufacturer to manufacturer, but batteries are pretty universal. Looking around online with definitely give you a better price than your local headshop, though. Cignot and liberty flights are two very cheap vendors, with excellent service.
And if I want to shovel, I want the shovel with the sharpest blade, not just anything that can dig through dirt...Just my opinion...I'm not all that worried, I was just wondering so when I do order my parts, everything works, fits, no surprises etc...I shop at walmart, I care not about the names, only if it works e.e...I haven't ordered any new atomizers yet and yeah just trying to figure these things so I don't wait 3 or 4 days for a useless product
Joye is relatively well known and has a great reputation (probably the best rep) so if it's a Joye product you can be sure the vendor is going to mention it in the description. If the product says "510", "510 compatible" or some such and doesn't say "Joye" then it's probably not a Joye product IMO. They'd be foolish not to name-drop the Joye name.
If it works well it doesn't matter. I ended up with a clone (impulse buy at a sale) and the atty looks sort of shabby and the carts I was given weren't even the right size (they were meant for a mega atty). But my manual battery works great and I mostly use it with cartomizer or a Joye 306 atty anyway.
