How do you inhale?

Hmm.... I didn't know people actually drew smoke/"smoke" directly into the lungs until my boyfreind told me he did after I asked . I tried it...it hurt! Of course, I don't really like the throat hit everyone talks about. I'm definitely much more of a flavor person! BTW, I draw with the tongue then inhale.

I draw the vapor/smoke directly into my lungs. I thought everyone did it that way, until today, lol. If you're not inhaling, what's the point?

I've been trying for the last couple hours to draw the vapor into my mouth first, then inhale it, and it's totally not working. My cheeks are getting all bulgy, and by the time I finish my drag (4-5 seconds) half the vapor has seeped out of my mouth. And it's making my tongue feel funny.

Is there a trick to this I'm not getting?

More importantly, what's the point of doing it that way, vs. just inhaling the vapor directly?

I blame bad habits from my teenage years

I think perhaps I know what habit you're referring to - a similar habit may be responsible for my tendency to draw directly into the lungs. "I smoked, but I didn't inhale" never went over well with my crowd... ;)

I wonder if all this mouth-inhaling is why such a small percentage of the nicotine in juice is (supposedly) absorbed into the bloodstream?

I dunno... I can tell you this though, I had absolutely no problems coming off of a pack a day Marlboro Light habit to vaping from day 1 on 10mg liquid...

How much liquid do you use per day?

I'm using ~1ml of 18mg, after smoking 20-30 menthol lights a day for 8 years. Which is much less liquid, and at a lower strength, than many here seem to use. And I'm not having any cravings or withdrawal symptoms, unlike with my previous attempts to quit.

I wonder if there really is a correlation. Hmm...

For my entire life, smoking cigarettes, and now electronic cigarettes, I've inhaled directly into my lungs.
I suppose it's because I started by smoking other substances first, I don't know.

But I never knew that anyone in the world DIDN'T inhale directly into their lungs.
In fact, the very idea of it seems odd to me.

Having said that, I have been doing it more lately, to reduce throat hit and increase vapor.
I'm slowly starting to get used to it.

But HOW do you do it?
I wish I could describe it to you, but I really don't know how.
:(

Just try inhaling without leaving your throat open, but don't let your cheeks puff out either.
If some goes down your throat into your lungs that's okay.

Just keep practicing and hopefully less and less will go immediately down your throat.
It is really freaking weird though, I gotta say.
