Probably a silly ? but just wondering how everyone does theirs?

I use a Sharpie and put a R above the V4L logo on the cart and place an R on the top of the rubber cap. So at a glance I know it's a refill.

Thanks to all who respond!

Starting my Vacation on Tues June 8th and will be gone about 10 days(no internet) but will be itching to read the board when I get back!

I found this info on the forum and it was the best purchase I ever made (not including any V4L products).

The "Brother PT-80" is an inexpensive and excellent label maker!!! It was like $32 bucks or something on Amazon. It comes with one roll of printing tape and it needs 4 AAA batteries. I've had mine for only V4L labeling purposes only for the past 3 months and JUST had to replace the batteries for the first time and am still on my first roll of printing tape. I will need to replace the tape soon but BEST PURCHASE!! I love blank premium cartos so its really important to label these since they all look the same.

There are lots of settings to make the print smaller or larger, wider or thinner, underline, circle, write two lines on the same piece of tape to save tape. For example you can put cherry, then press enter, then type in another flavor and hit print. This way you get 2 small labels from one print/piece of tape. Scissors are obviously needed if you print this way. I have found that using slightly wider labels stay on better so now I type "straw, press enter, berry" this uses less tape and stays on better than a long very skinny piece of label.

I also use it to label "juice" bottles that I have reused with different flavors. The labels stay on well and the ink stays on well. Its the way to go, if you can afford it. I got sick of trying to use sharpies and having the markings wear off CONSTANTLY.

Good luck!!!

I have one of the label makers, mine is a Dymo LetraTag. I think I paid $15 or $20 for it a few years ago. Haven't had to use it for this yet, but I wondered if anyone else had thought of it! Battery lasts a long time with avg use, but mine has a jack for a wall plug as well for a heavy session of use. Handy tool for lots of stuff, we use it all the time.

i'm so glad i read this thread.. i forgot that i have a label marker laying around here somewhere. i'll have to play search and find.... so since we are talking about refilling and labeling, does everyone fill a bunch of carto's ahead and have them ready for use? right now i only do maybe 4 different flavours in rotation and then when one of the flavours is gone, i'll refill it and wait for the others to be gone and refill them... just asking...

I do pretty much the same thing. I have about 4 cartos with 4 different flavors that I switch between throughout the day. I usually just top those off or refill as needed. I'm pretty new to this so I'm sure I will end up with more and more flavors in rotation as I find more I love!!

I just picked up some "file folder labels" from Rite Aid Pharmacy in the office supply section. They have quite a few different sizes and they work well. I've had zero luck with markers, and buying a 30 dollar label maker (I can't understand why they are so expensive) is not really an option right now. If I for whatever reason forget to label I also just smell them. People look at me as if I am insane, but it gets the job done.
