That is a question I'm asked once in a while Butters-here is 'my' take
ahem....
0 Nic? whats the point of vaping then?
When I smoked I would get the craving every hour or so-and spark one up, for 25 years I did that, only when I got older did I think about it as 'entrapment'-it was costing me a fortune and was potentialy killing me, tried several times to quit and failed-until vaping came along
The reason vaping is a rip roaring success is because millions have found the transition from smoking fairly easy-I struggled at first-but that didn't last long at all, as time went by I realised that I didn't 'crave' vaping the way I did with cigs-hmmm...?.
The 'real' crappy anxiety (craving) I experienced while I was a smoker-I didn't get with vaping (it took a long time vaping before I realised this). Then I saw the Killeen report, I didn't take it as 'gospel' but it did get me thinking.
As a smoker I got a 'hit' or an anxiety (craving) release, I dont get that same rush (release) from vaping, sure-its relaxing and enjoyable.
I vape nic free because I dont feel I 'need' nicotine-I did when I was a smoker (or I thought I did) -I'd be climbing the walls and irritable if my smoke was delayed.
After my Nic free 'experiment' and the liberating realisation that I could 'cope' without Nic, I thought-is there any point in 'me' using a substance that I feel no real benefit (reward) from and dont feel any negative effect from not using it ?
Its like that alcoholic beverage that has the tiny (real) gold glitter in it (IMO) there is no benefit from it and in all likelyhood no harm in it either-but your paying more for it (gold is expensive).
Finaly-each to their own, I'm not dissing Nic-not at all, it is a very beneficial molecule and vitamin-there are lots and lots of positives to support its free availability-and we're not all the same, I have friends that vape 45mg-it makes them happy and satisfied-above all it should be left as a 'freedom of choice' recreational product-no different to caffeine, alcohol, cigarettes, Red bull.
