Well. I started with a crappy super mini over a year ago that I got from a smoke shop. Immediately went and ordered a kr808d-1 from V4L. Vaped with that for a few months. Quit completely for a month. Then I got stressed at work one day and bummed an analog.

Months went by smoking analogs again. Started having some breathing problems again and said enough is enough. Pulled out my 808, bought some new carts and juice and started at it. Convinced my girlfriend to buy a 510 carto kit instead of an 808 when she wanted to buy an e-cig. I tried it, liked it so much better I bought a Riva.

Now I suspect my girlfriend has bought me a maxi rough stack for Christmas. I can't be sure, but she told me not to buy any e-cig hardware and said she got my gift "online."

About 7 months or so. I gave up e-cigs altogether this past June after having started with a Blu-type and an RN4081, but I got fed up with the short battery life and the constant refilling of carts. Still, I really wanted to stop smoking, so I got back into them in September, and promptly bought a Wetbox, then an Ali'i. Now I am 3 months analog-free and loving the Ali'i. My old, cig-style PVs are in a drawer, where they will remain for the foreseeable future. (Actually, so is the Wetbox - it just didn't cut the mustard for me.)

I had a situation similar to roxics. Started off nearly a couple years ago with the super minis. Then found this forum at that time and tried the KR808 from V4L. Still looked somewhat like a regular cig (even though black battery with blue LED). Neither of them worked for me, though...auto batteries, and I just wasn't satisfied with the technique. So, I went back to analogs.

About a month ago I decided to quit again. I revisited this forum and found out about the eGO. Have been analog-free since then (45 year smoker). I could care less if people initially think I'm smoking a cigar now (or a Sharpie), because it's working!!

I'm thinking about getting a box mod bottomfeeder now just to get rid of the dripping/cart/carto hassle.

1.5 weeks. At that point, started modding. Next mod: waterproof, crush proof box mod with touch sensors. Two touch sensors to be exact, with no on/off switch. One sensor for the hand, the other for the "give me vape" sensor. Will not turn on unless your hand is in vaping position, and finger is on the "give me vape" sensor. Built in a otterbox style box.

I blame Mistress Nomad for getting me hooked on the KR808. That was my first PV and I am glad I started with that rather than a Blu or something similar.

I am a researcher. I never buy anything without researching the hell out of it. So, of course I was reading ECF and other sites for a few weeks before I bought anything. But, I still had the "I need something that looks and feels like a real cig" mentality. So, I set out to find the best, analog-like ecig. I probably watched 15 to 20 videos on YouTube and the videos from Mis Nomad were what stuck out to me. So, the KR8 it was.

I still use my KR8 but I now also have an ego and a riva that are my normal PVs. I don't think I will move on to mods simply because the cost versus analogs was one of the main reasons I switched to vaping. Going to a mod for me defeats that purpose. Plus, I will most likely quit everything all together before I would ever get my moneys worth out of a mod.

So, I guess my answer is, not yet. I still use my KR8. But, it took me about a month before I moved on to a bigger battery style PV.

I knew immediately that the cigarette size / shape wasn't right; we're asking a small switching-circuit power supply to do the work of a tea kettle and a little piece of fluff to maintain a steady flow. But it was about a month of ECF before I went for the x-power 900 and then an inferno. I use the cig-styles for social occasions but the big guns for serious inhaling. The cig style would be fine if the sensor cut it out a little earlier and at the same time as the cart/carto needed replacing or refilling. That would mean less expensive stuff and more portable charging to avoid costing more than tobacco cigarettes.

I started with a Kr808, which I'll consider to be a cig-style.

I used it happily for 4 months. The only thing that moved me away from it was having to keep buying cartomizers because they don't have long life spans, and the 901 atty which they will accommodate natively isn't a strong enough hit to me.

The 510 battery life is, of course, frustrating. And regular atties in general aren't really strong enough to me. So on I went to an eGo with LR's. Managed to fry those with my 510 LR's (the only atties that manage to give me a good hit and taste nice at the same time), so now I'm moving on to mods. Sick of losing batteries.
