How long did it take you to upgrade?

I bought an eVic along with my starter kit, at the recommendation of a family member who turned me on to vaping. Quickly I found the versatility and features to be well worth it, but the portability of the ego-C units is hard to beat. I also switched quickly from clearos to vivi nova tanks, which are a big improvement for me, but I want to try other things, too. No way have I saved money since I stopped smoking analogs but this is way fun!

I started vaping 4yrs ago. My first PV was a Blu PCC kit. I understood the concept of vaping & less than a week I ordered the Joye 510's still wasn't satisfied so I bought my first mod 2 wks after the 510's and my first mod was an Indulgence which sucked and I caught a great swap here in the classifieds and traded the Indulgence the very same week for a Silver Bullet. That's when I started to really enjoy vaping. Drippig was the only sure fire vape there was until the Boges & shortly after came the DCT Tanks. I bought an Omega as a back up PV Mod & I was one of the first 50 folks to buy the Liquinator and I bought 3. I stuck with my Silver Bullet until the Lambo/L Rider came out. I had the Lambo less than a month before I dropped it, breaking it in several pieces. I tried many, many of the "new" cartos just as fast as Gotvapes was releasing them. Which proved to be costly, with poor quality control & GV refusing to back the products they claimed were so great. So I haven't bought anything except Boges & ejuice until last week when I ordered my Vamo. After a week of research. I just ordered me an iClear 30 & a Vape Only BCC Sunday, I got the email it was shipped today, so I have my fingers crossed. Oh forgot about the Provari I got for my birthday last year, (smh) that & my SB was all I was using for the past year with the same Liquinators...... I am very happy with my Vamo & my Provari. The Omega is for when I have to dress up...lol

As mentioned in my first post I bought the V2 standard kit 2 weeks ago and received it a week ago. I love it and vaping so far, especially trying new flavors! My question is...

What did you start with?

How long until you upgraded?

What did you upgrade to?

I started with a V2 Cigs Standard Plus kit in December 2012. I started filling cartos and clearos with other juices, and explored other PVs for a few weeks then upgraded to an ego 1000mAh Twist kit in February, I think (it might have been late January). In April I upgraded to an Innokin itaste SVD, but I still use my Twist and intend to either purchase another Twist or something similar soon.

BLU cigs - less than a month > Joye 510 - about six months > Joye Ego series - 2 years with multiple tank types > Joye Evic w18350 and vivi nova tank - yesterday to now. An estimate, but relatively close to accurate time frame. I always have the Ego twist batteries for when i need something compact.

Cig-a-like for about 2 weeks, with a juice delivery about 1 week in.

Basic eGo battery for the next 3 weeks, with different cartos.

Old VV eGo batteries (3.3v, 3.7v, battery voltage), and homemade box mods (and carto tanks) for about a 2 months.

VV devices started to move in at this point. Lots of different devices and delivery systems tried ever since.

The biggest "upgrade", even in the beginning, was finding a good juice.

Started with Green Smoke cig-alikes. I quit from my first vape and liked the flavors but Ground Hog Day battery charging drove me nuts in less than a week. I wanted a VW device but they weren't ready from prime time so I temporized with VV Twists and Vivi Novas.

The VAMO had the feature set I wanted for VW so I bought a couple of those in December. I was still using my Green Smokes for out and about and upgraded those with a couple of eRolls, also in December.

I decided to add a couple of mechanicals in case of FDA mischief and got an nHaler Curve/Can combo in February. In March I added a K100 with a Kick.

In March and April I tried some AGA-T2 RBAs and wasn't particularly impressed so I bought three Avid AMP Tanks which have impressed me.

Electrician, welcome to ECF. I've been a vaper for 2+ years and currently live in Perry Hall, however, I expect to be moving from the area soon.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the set up you have. There will always be something "better". If you are happy with the amount of vapor you are getting and the battery life is sufficient, you can wait to upgrade when either your batteries stop accepting a charge or when your current setup no longer satisfies your needs.

If there is any help you need with anything vaping related, please feel free to pm me. Some times it's easier if you can talk to someone. Just ask and we can make arrangements to speak.

Hi, I upgraded pretty quickly from a similar kit. It is really what works for you. I suggest going to a local ecig shop (not a vender specific mall kiosk) with a good selection. Many places let you try many products in shop to see what you like. Don't pay too much attention to the mod snobs. Like I said before find what you like. Take suggestions and don't let anyone knock your vaping system. Good luck!

Everything was fast for me. Started with an ego starter kit with a carto. After a week I started experimenting in all clearomizers. I finally liked cartos more (less problems). I kept them and I upgraded to vv battery - ego twist. after a month I went to Vamo, didn't like it so much and after 2 weeks upgraded to evic, which I loved it and I still have it. After 3-4 months in vaping, I went to RBA's (the dripper, killer 705, nautilus, Euforia). Finally 7 months now, I went to provari, still keeping evic with the dripper as one of my best attys.

I started 88 days ago with a basic eGo kit. It was a slow start for me. Unlike most I was not a smoker, but rather a user of smokeless tobacco (Snuff, Dip, whatever you want to call it). Despite initial difficulties, I haven't used tobacco in any form since day 1. About 2 weeks in, I upgraded to Kanger T2 clearomizers, and I've been trying multiple different flavors of juice. I tend to like the sweeter, fruit and candy flavors.

I'm currently awaiting delivery of a Tesla VV/VW mod....can't wait. Next up is probably going to be a Kanger ProTank.

Hello gimmeshelter! Nice to see another Marylander and Ravens fan on here! Yoyr name reminds me of the Bob Dylan song. Anyway have you tried the Flea Market in baltimore for vaping supplies? I saw there is a stand there. I was thinking of going there this weekend to see what they have.

If you refer to the one in Dundalk, yes I have been there. I heard there was a vendor at the Patapsco fm too but have never been. What area are you in ? There is a store on Fort Smallwood RD. in Pasadena called The Vaper's Knoll that has somewhat recently opened but has been selling on line for sometime under the name of vapor......com. I'm also aware of another store in Reisterstown called VapeXscape that has liquids from vendors such as Pink Spot and Flavorz By Joe but be forewarned they are approx. priced at double what you would pay on line.

Ellicott City has a nice store called Vape Dojo that sells VERY reasonably priced gear and liquids. They have a website but I cannot speak to the quality of their liquids. I intend to try them sometime. The liquids sold in Dundalk I felt were average to below average quality wise. Just my opinion, it's still nice to be able to swing by and get stuff in an emergency.

B'More Vapes has a website and maybe a brick and mortar. IDK. Haven't tried them either but reviews I've read haven't been overly flattering. YMMV.

In Cumberland, MaddCatt Vapors is a nice vendor with pretty decent liquids and also in Cumberland and Frostburg there are storefronts for The Vapor Room whose liquids many people tend to be fond of.

It's an exciting time when you realize how well vaping can work. Congratulations for making the effort. I meant when I said if you need any personal assistance with this stuff whether advice on how to maximize the life of your batteries and cartomizers, sensible upgrade paths, pros and cons over different setups or just an enthusiastic ear to share your new interest with, feel free to let me know.

One last thing, there really aren't any local vaper's meetings that are active that I'm aware of. I could be mistaken. Last month I attended the 2 year anniversary of the White Rose Vaper's Club in York,PA. It was well worth the effort to make it up there. You can google them if you like and sign up for their news letter and see if it is something that may interest you.

Decemeber 28th, 2012 Purchased a Blu starter kit. Took me about a week and 2 packs of their overpriced cartos.
Jan 5, 2013 found cignot.com and bought Ego-C kit with a vivi nova tank and thought I'd want auto batts... (stupid idea)
Feb 3, 2013 Both auto batts died on my and were replaced from cignot by 2 manual batts
Feb 27th, 2013 Thought I lost one of my batts, so I ordered my first Ego Twist 650. Found my ego-c the next day and sold the kit to keep the twist
March 26th 2013 Decided that the twist and a Vivi mini tank was a good size, but wanted it to be shorter and ordered a Spinner 400mah along with a Vamo both of which I have been in love with. Also recently purchased an HH.357 drip tip and have to say the vapor and taste are unmatched in my 5 months of vaping.
