Ima DIYer. I make a 200 ml batch at a time. From that batch, I fill a 30 ml. bottle to use as a fill bottle. That bottle will last me at least a month. Going by that estimate, 400 mls. would last me at least 13.3333333333 months.
As I see it - there's no right nor no wrong answer to this - we all smoked what we smoked back in the day, sometimes even it depended what we did for a living or the circumstances we lived through.
My beloved father who fought in every theatre of WW2 and had medals for the same once said to me " They gave us Army rum when things looked bad and we got issued with cigarettes .... they called them "Vicory Cigarettes" and trust me Boy they were bad,"
Dad lit one cigarette off of another til he died at age 70 at the very top of his second successful stresssful career. I followed him into it and by age 24 I was smoking 60 unfiltered cigarettes a day when in uniform until I switched to a pipe realising this was unsustainable.

4x100ml bottles of what? Juice? Nicotine base?
I don't really pay attention to how much of the various flavored and unflavored juice I mix up but I go though ~240ml of 100mg base once or twice a year.
I see my last order of 43oz of VG was Sept 2020 and I'm almost out and need to order more.

Well lets do some math i usually vape away 30ML in 2 days so 6 days for 90ml lets just say 100ml per week, you got 4 of them? So 4weeks about 1 month for me but let me remind you i usually vape between 60-120watts most of time its 80w my sweet spot so juice goes fast this way but i love the taste, i tried lower wattages like 30-50w just wasnt satishfying enough for me
About 90 days. I DIY 12 mg a 120 ml bottle (that holds more like 125 ml) last me about 4 weeks. That's ~4.5 ml / day. 400/4.5 = ~90 days.
Approximately 80 days.
Very open ended question and may have many answers. Like the question: How long will it take for me to walk from A to B? Well it depends very much on how fast you walk, how many times you stop to rest and the route you take. In other words, how often do you vape? I don't stop, go like hell and take the shortest route
Me personally, I sit in front of a PC screen about 18 hours a day and chain vape. I go through between 20 to 25ml a day, so 400ml would last me about 3 weeks.
That's easy for me because I mix 400ml at a time.
Historically, a batch has lasted 4 months.
Now that I live in an old geezers home, a batch lasts a little longer.
Just depends on how much time I spend in the chow hall, and can't vape.

Assuming the liquid has already been diluted and is ready to vape, about 10ml a day. So that would be 40 days, maybe a little less 
What has changed for me in recent years (thanks TPD) is the plastic waste, I used to buy 250ml bottles of nic base and glycerine then mix them, but now I have to buy 10ml bottles of nic. I haven't actually calculated the amount of plastic (and cardboard packaging) involved, it just seems more. I seem to visit the vape shop a lot more often.

You'll get some surprised and outraged reactions from some super-low wattage vapers but you're in the normal range IMHO. If it bothers you, try cutting down.

I agree wholeheartedly. Prior to TPD I mixed my own unflavoued liquid using, premixed base liqid and premixed Nicotine in 50/50 PG/VG and so used only 3 plastic bottles ( one of them and empty distiiled wayer bottle that I mixed in.Assuming the liquid has already been diluted and is ready to vape, about 10ml a day. Now I have to use 10 ml bottles and I keep a stock of 1 litre at any stage - over the years since TPD that's one heck of a lot of empty plastic bottles.
Does your country's implementation of the TPD make it illegal for individuals to possess liquid in bottles bigger than 10ml? I thought that nonsense only affected products that were offered in commerce...?
Here you can posess as much as you like ... so long as you've bought it in 10 ml bottles if it contains nicotine.
You can buy nicotine free larger bottles of "Shortfills" with no nicotine and pay through the nose for 10 ml bottles of nicotine to try to get where you want ... if you can be bothered to work it out.
Me, I work direct with a lab that makes its own stuff in the UK and supplies certificated data sheets showing what's in their stuff.
The regular price, dealing direct with them, is £22.00 for 25 bottles post free, but they offered me 25 for £20.00 this month so I bought 50 - 50 more plastic bottles for the bin!
This compares with £25.00 for a 50g pack of pipe tobacco like St Bruno or Condor which I used to smoke. A 50 g pack would last me a week.
2-3 10ml bottles of Vape Liquid with 16 strength nicotine will last me a week, At even the regular price this comes in at £2.64 a week which is a darn sight better than smoking.
Yes we all buy vape devices - but just check out the price of a silver mounted Peterson Pipe ( I had gold mounted ones as well as as two 7 day sets of Falcon system pipes and a few Meershaums ) and a Zippo plus a nice leather tobacco pouch, and vaping wins hands down now!
